Drains are a pain in the butt!! I had a mastectomy 2 years ago and had 2 drains. They were honestly the WORST part of the whole process. The little suture that was wrapped around the tube, then sewn into the skin...OMG. It was soooo irritating. Once those bad boys came out I felt like a new woman!! Hang in there, you're one day closer to having that torture device removed

Where are the November Sleevers?

Today I went to The Vitamin Shoppe to look for some samples of protein shakes and they recommended Isopure premixed protein waters. 40grams of protein and 0 carbs/sugars. I bought 4 different flavors to try. I will let you guys know how they taste. I'm super excited about not having to mix anything -

Ppl meet their deductibles by that time. End of year is always busier for surgeries... Not sure why the price would go up tho?? -

I'm scheduled for 11/11. My pre OP testing (labs, EKG, chest X-ray and barium swallow) are on 10/31. Also have a 4 hour class on my pre OP liver reduction diet and post OP diet stages the same day. I'm thinking of going thru my clothes, doing a deep cleaning of my house and purging a bunch of stuff in general. Now seems like a good time to de-clutter! -
Good luck today ladies! Check in when you're able <3

Yes I'm using the bars now. I agree they will be impossible in the beginning. Good for later tho -

I was looking online last night at the different brands and flavors. I think I'm going to get a few flavors of the Isopure and Nectar (samples) to try before I invest in a tub. Lol I have found these delish protein bars that have between 18-21 gr of protein and only 3 gr sugar. They are made by Pure Protein. They are 10 for $10 at Kroger's grocery store right now if anyone has that grocery in your city. -

You're very welcome!! Let me know how they work. I'm so scared of drinking too much too fast. That just sounds- painful!! -

Several ppl have recommended a sippy cup to help from not drinking too much too fast. Sounds crazy but they swear by it in the beginning stages! -

I've been working on those changes during my 6 month meetings: not drinking while eating, proteins first, reading labels, totally cut out pop (even diet) and trying to get all the water in. Those sugar free additives are a lifesaver!! Next is giving up the straw...ugh. At first I was bummed that my insurance required the 6 months but looking back, I'm glad I had it- this is definitely a lifestyle change for sure!! -

Funny you asked this because I just returned from the store with protein bars, yogurt (low carb/high protein brand) and sugar free Popsicles. I just need a good protein drink now. My surgery isn't til 11/11 but I figure why not get started now! -

I'm scheduled for 11/11. Pre OP testing and class for pre and post OP diet info are on Halloween. Already have my approval...just waiting. Anyone else have to do the liver reduction pre OP diet? What's that like? -
Looking for a " Dear God let me get approved" Pal

Surgery date!!! 11/11. All my preop testing on Halloween. I'm still in shock that it's happening! -
I got my surgery date!! 11/11/14. Preop testing and dietician class on 10/31. Surgery is scheduled for 8am and I'm glad!! First one of the day so Dr. Ditslear will be good n rested

I talked to them last Thursday when I got my approval. The surgery scheduler said she'd be calling late this week or early next week to get my date. "There are a lot of people ahead of you" is what she told me. I'm afraid to tick her off...
-
EXACTLY!!!

I don't know about everyone else but I'm SO tired of hearing "you have such a pretty face". People just don't realize how messed up that "compliment" is.
-
We must post pics in them
-
I'm afraid to be a bug-a-boo! I don't want to get pushed to the end of the line for calling too much.
-
I'm trying so hard to NOT call my surgeons office! I got my approval last week but still no surgery date. Not even a call to set up my pre surgery stuff. The waiting is torture.
