Hello everyone! I am new to Bariatric Pal and want to introduce myself. I am scheduled for a sleeve on September 27 with Dr. Alvarez in Piedras Negras. I am older than most sleevers, being 65, but I don't think it is too late to improve my retirement by losing my excess weight. I am a female retired university biology prof and I have two grown sons, both of whom are supportive of my having this procedure. My husband is also supportive, and will go with me to Mexico. I have been gaining weight steadily since menopause, which has led to heart, cholesterol, lipid, blood pressure and pre-diabetes problems. I was never heavy before. I have tried all kinds of exercise and diets without significant or lasting success. I am hoping that the gastric sleeve will be the answer. I'm ready to take this journey!
