:whoo:Hi everyone! It's been a while since I've posted, but I wanted to share my exciting news. I am officially a resident of "onederland". I screamed when I weighed myself this morning. I've been stuck for a few weeks and FINALLY the darn scale moved. I still need to change my stats on profile. I never thought I'd be so excited about weighing 198 pounds. Karla

I agree that the pain is a love/hate thing. It's the only thing that keeps me in line. I was a chew twice and swallow person before this surgery. Now I have to remind myself because I hate having that terrible chest pain. It really only happens when I eat too fast. I am afraid of a few foods. Grilled cheese is a no no for me ~ ouch! I am still glad I had the surgery. My husband is finally saying things about it ~ I guess "Where's you butt going?" is a positive compliment. Especially since he fought tooth and nail that he didn't want me having it done and wasn't going to take me. PS. My bodybugg is being delivered tomorrow ! :whoo:I can't wait!

Before and After Lap Band Surgery - PICTURES ONLY

Correction ~ posted on page 85. -
I'm a protein counter. My dietician set a protein intake goal of 59 grams a day, no more than 2 grams of sugar per serving, and limit fat intake to 9 grams per meal. I've lost 60 pounds in 4 months. Things are slowing down now and I feel that I need a jump start. My bodybugg will hopefully help me get that jumpstart. I'm awaiting delivery ~ there was delay due to missorting with UPS. Oops!

I was addicted to Diet Pepsi and haven't had one since June. I was told several different things. 1. No carbonated beverages ever. 2. If you do then drink it flat. 3. It's okay to drink after 6 months post op, but it could cause severe gas. I've chosen to not even go there. If I've done it for this long I don't need it. In fact, a few weeks ago, my mom bought me a cappicino (forgive my spelling) from McD's to help me stay awake while I was driving. I bounced off walls for hours that night. Won't be doing that again! :biggrin1: Karla

Protein drink cramping my stomach

I found a great tasting Protein shake at Sam's club ~ it's made by EAS (Energy Athletics Systems) and it's called AdvantEDGE Carb Control. It is sugar free, only has 4 carbs, and has 17 grams of protein. It doesn't taste bad either. Of course, Sam's sells the 24 count case, but I have seen it at Walmart in the pharmacy area by the other drinks in a small 4 pack. I haven't had any problems with it. It's worth a try. Karla -
Before and After Lap Band Surgery - PICTURES ONLY

OMG~ I figured this darn this out. :whoo: -
Bigbaby ~ I had my surgery in Ypsilanti, Michigan and basically follow the same diet as gastric bypass patients. I don't count calories, but I count protein intake. I have to eat a minimum of 59 grams of protein a day and no more than 2 grams of sugar per serving is allowed. I get the feeling that everyone's diet is different based on the doctor. According to my surgeon, my results are not typical, but I was obsessed with this when I started. I just started snitching a bit, but within reason. Question for anyone ~ How do I get my pictures on this site? I'm not into all this technology and it's driving me crazy. It's probably easy and my 10 year old could probably figure it out, but I really want to share my pictures with the group. Karla:clap2:

I've only been in this site for about 2 weeks. I love it here. I was banded in June 07 and it has helped me get more focused on my goal. I still haven't figured out how to get my pictures on the site, but I'm working at it. Karla:p

Hi Everyone! I'm new to the site and I've been navigating my way around checking things out. I'm really excited to find so many people with the band and see the progress. You are all an inspiration to me. Suzzie ~ I ordered a bodybugg because you typed me into it . It should be here early next week. I was able to get it for the $196 deal. Awesome! I'm trying to figure out how to get my pics on the site. I take a monthly pic and would love to share. I'm not exactly a techi so it may take me a bit. Hi Judy! I did try to get on the site Saturday, but I figured it was my computer. I'm not much for technology. I'm still trying to navigate and figure out~ getting out of the chat rooms. I'm excited to be in the support group. Thanks for getting that started!

Hi everyone! I'm new to the group and was excited to see this thread for teachers. I teach high school special education. I was banded June 19th, 2007 (Gotta love summer break). So far I'm down 60lbs. I too find the eating at school difficult. I'm at 2.25cc of fill and if I don't eat slow enough it can be quite painful. I try to stick to crackers, cottage cheese, and cheese sticks at work. It seems to be the easiest with the time constraints.
