Hi, I would love to talk and get to know any woman who has had the surgery and possibly date if there are sparks. It would be great to meet someone who has the same issues and understand everything we go through after surgery. I am 2.5 years after surgery. Can't wait to hear from you.

That is definitely true I do not want a plastic girl at all.

Hi. It's been 2.5 years since my surgery and I have lost a little over 100lbs I gained about 10 back and it seems ok. I struggle everyday with how I look. The crazy part is I am told more now that I am too ugly to date by women than when I was bigger. I have some extra skin but I feel I look better but maybe I'm not. It is only about my looks for women anymore I'm not sure why. Maybe I can get some insight?
-
How does that work?
-
Thank you all. So to put more context. It hasn't gotten me too down yet. But it only started after I lost weight. I am on the normal dating sites pof match etc. after awhile it starts to weigh down a little bit.
-
Yeah i don't tell them about my loose skin but after weight loss I have a harder time finding a date than I did before so.

Has any one had any luck recently finding a date because I have struck out

No support from boyfriend
anthonyb replied to christyb69's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
That is too bad. I agree with everyone else you need to put you first. This is a personal health decision and sadly some people do not understand that. I know in my case I was just very clear with her that I needed to make this decision. She never fully understood. I hope that doesn't happen to you. There is more to life than what we look like. And with WLS we can live long enough to enjoy those other things. -
No support from boyfriend

This is common. It happened to me as well. I guess the best question really is why does not want you to lose weight? In my case my ex wife thought if I lost weight I would leave her or cheat on her. Basically no one but her wanted me when I was overweight but if I was skinnier then maybe I would have options -

Good luck! It's a long journey

Haha yeah. But it's still awesome now.

Well for me. I fit in clothes that I never did before. So I have a small amount of fashion sense now. I'm back to being athletic again and playing some sports When I go get a drink and get ID'd I get complimented. Negatives. I hate food. Dating still sucks.

I am hoping to find new friends I am two years out since my surgery almost three now and I am loving life. I am down 125lbs and pretty steady. Definitely looking for new friends and maybe even a date if I get lucky. Good luck everyone!

Thanks!

Hi. I lost 125lbs I was sleeved on September 4th 2014. I never gained weight until now I track every calorie. I did go from eating 1200 to about 1600-1800 calories but would that explain the weight gain? I don't over eat at all o focus hard to make sure I don't over eat. I'm lost and scared I'm screwing up. Any help would be appreciated

Be honest - does anyone regret the surgery?

I don't regret the surgery but there are negative side effects. Won't go until all of them just know sometimes it's very very hard. -
Wanting to meet successful patients after a year
anthonyb replied to anthonyb's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Oh yeah I know about shopping haha. I pretty much do what I want too it's pretty awesome! It's great to feel different and better about myself. A couple of negatives that maybe you guys have dealt with. Dating is a little weird now. My family never thinks I eat enough ( they are all overweight and obese as I was). They push me to try and eat it's hard to explain to them otherwise. In the beginning it was frustrating buying clothes and then they would not fit in a month ( I know not really a problem). Pretty small problems to deal with. I gladly do it everyday and would make the same decision again -

3.5 months post op.... what's been tough for you?
anthonyb replied to alexsisv's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The toughest thing for me has been the thought of overeating. I eat anywhere from 600-1000 calories a day. My doctor says I should be at 1200 but because I have kidney disease I cannot eat a lot of protein so it has to be more balanced. But when I hit a 1000 calories I feel like I have overate. I am so scared because I have lost 75lbs in 3 months and I am afraid that I will stop losing or ruin my pouch. My wife says I'm crazy but I don't know. -
I feel this way all the time. I am 3 months post op. I have kidney disease so I cannot eat as much protein as everyone else so mine is a little different. I eat anywhere from 600-1000 calories a day. My doctor says I should eat when I'm hungry eat slow and eat until I'm full. But definitely feel like a 1000 is too much. I have lost 75 lbs in three months need to exercise more but I haven't had any stalls yet.
