I woke up in a grouchy mood this morning. Thought you were trying to stir up some trouble :-)
We normally delete all topics that are posted for testing purposes. Your definition of innocuous is definitely different that mine lol. I was cleaning up threads that went off topic.
I hope so as well. You are very welcome!

For the record, Babbs posts were restored. The reason this occurred in the first place was because some member who should know better didn't follow our rules and posted very inappropriate status updates. I've been running this community since 2003 without many issues but lately it feels like I'm running a kindergarten.

No and we tried too. Sadly my insurance has very specific rules about what it will cover (eg the pannus must hang x number of inches past the pubic bone) and I didn't meet those criteria. Showed pictures of rashes and such... Documented treatments. They still didn't cover a penny.

I just had my first plastics on Thursday of last week. I started with my arms and 3 to 4 months from now intend on having a Abdominalplasty and breast lift with augmentation.
I am nearly 23 months post op from RNY,and I reached goal in March of this year.
I still have not figured out why some insurances cover the cosmetic surgeries and some do not. Unfortunately mine does not and the costs have to come out of my pocket.
From what I understand if it is reconstruction it is covered such as someone who has had breast cancer and now needs their breasts reconstructed.
The scary thing is, if anything goes wrong like you get an infection and have to go to the hospital insurance can deny those costs as well because they would have been caused by cosmetic surgery.
Honestly, this is one insurance rule that needs to change. Obesity is a disease and reconstruction is necessary in a lot of cases.
Many times simply having the apron of skin removed is covered but if your muscles need tightening to give you that tight stomach you are on your own. Most of us need that tightening......
Anyway for now I guess if I want anything done it has to come out of my own pocket.

So I had my plastics consult.. My surgeon said that she's had really good luck with insurances paying for most of the plastics..
We are trying for a 360 lift, I have good reason, cause I get rashes in the back where I sweat a lot (TMI, but butt crack area ). She also believes I don't need much in way of a breast lift, just removal of some skin to tighten them up.
She also thinks I don't need arms redone, but a little Lipo she says will tighten my arm, and then I'm hoping for a little neck lift as well..
    I'm so excited!

Good for you! Plastics was an excellent decision for me. I am now almost 2 years out from my first surgery and over a year out from my last surgery and everyday I am thankful for what I look like thanks, largely in part, to my brilliant plastic surgeon.

Chrystee reacted to fatgirlsvelte in What did you weigh when you started running?
Have always been a runner—but it's also the reason I've elected for Bariatric surgery. At 386 pounds...can't even explain the looks I'd get in before starting the 5ks, but finishing in the middle of the pack was never an issue once I had built up after training. Though "admirable..." HOWEVER, I did serious effing damage, and have only ran once () since starting to reduce my weight because the doctor said I needed to stop immediately—until my body mass was reduced. The wear and tear on my ankles and left hip was too much, and he said I may have already done irreparable damage (). I'm 29-years old.
When I ignored the doctor's orders and went on a five mile run a few months ago after not training for six months? I had to call out from work the next day from the pain, and I was sore for almost ten full days.
I've taken off fifty pounds pre-op (I hope to lose another 34.5 before going under the knife), and even when I get sassy and run up/down the stairs, my injuries make themselves known right away. I've been doing yoga/strength training/swimming daily, but there is NOTHING like the Runner's High. I'm welling up actually typing this right now.
Just remember that no matter where you start, how you start, how slow you are, what you look like... you're a runner.
    Humans were made to move.
    All love. Good luck.
Build up strength in your legs and flexibility in your joints if you start a bit heavier, and everything will fall into place.

So... I am a total girl. That said, I often find myself randomly singing these lyrics thru out the day:
"To the window (to the window), to the wall (to the wall)
To the sweat drop down my balls (my balls)
To all these b!tches crawl (crawl)"

Has anyone gone through an identity crisis after WLS? I feel overall happier than before, but I don't know if its culmination of my age (36) and the weight loss, but I feel like I'm going through a bit of an identity or mid life crisis? I'm glad my husband is giving me a little leeway, and we are having fun "discovering" things together.. but then I feel a little depressed lately too.. my whole identity is changing.. People call me beautiful, gorgeous, a MILF.. and I'm just not used to these things.. they seem so foreign.
When I was over 250-300 pounds, people mostly ignored me.. no one looked in my eyes.. people were barely friendly.. my husband agrees that my personality hasn't changed that much.. but just the outside me.. I also discovered changes in my sexuality, that I had no idea existed. I went from 0 sex drive, to 150 MPH, raging, always wanting sex as well..
I'm rambling, but just wondered if anyone else has gone through this, and do the hormones calm down after a bit?

I'm going through similar issues. I have so much energy now that I can't sit still. I'm bored sitting in front of the TV and doing other sedentary activities.
I think my high-energy attitude may be too much for one family member and one friend, but I don't care.

I am also starting the divorce process. Very scary as I have been married for 27 years. I will be a new "normal" for me, but will be nice to make decisions for myself. Forgot what that was like! lol

There is definitely a very active community here and everyone I've been meeting up with is big into staying active. A lot of hikers and cyclists especially. I just think most of them are active by a matter of course and not training for anything specific, so they are used to a more flexible schedule. Whereas, with my marathon training, I have to be more strict than most of them are used to seeing.
I'm making it work though. I've actually been really successful at meeting new people and staying active this last little stretch. I have plans every single night this week! Got home from a visit to a friend in DC on Sunday and ended up doig dinner and a movie with a couple of people. Last night I had a stay-in movie date with someone. Tonight I have my Hill Runs Meetup (we run up an down a ridiculous hill for an hour because we hate ourselves, apparently) THEN a movie with a coworker. Tomorrow I have a Game Night Meetup at an ale house. Thursday I'm meeting a different coworker after work to go hiking. And Friday night I'm doing a Pub Crawl!
