  1. It is very normal.. they pumped you full of fluid, and you are (most likely) on painkillers.. Once you stop those, and your bowel gets moving again, you will start dropping.

I'm just doing two here locally. My first is April 24th and the other isn't until Sept. 18. I'm curious about traveling to do others around the country. Do you have friends/family in those areas. I'd be worried about not having "support people" around to take care of me before and after.

  5. RNY SHOULD keep you restricted longer.. but after a year or two, a lot of bypass patients can eat anything as well. Some don't dump. Some do. You want to work on changing your behaviors the most.
  6. Officially registered for the VA Beach Rock and Roll Half!

    What’s Your Spring Goal?

My goal is to lose the last 32 pounds. Slow going now! I've got a few half marathons for the fall, so I will continue to train for those. I have a 48 mile bike race in April, and a 75 mile race in June coming up as well!

    Maryland sleevers?!

@@funke4real I have several friends who have had their surgeries with Dr. Kligman! I almost did my surgery there, but decided on Dr. Tran in DC. I've heard that he has a sort of bad bedside manner, but is a VERY good surgeon, as is his partner (I cannot remember her name though). However, I would NOT recommend their plastic surgery, as my friend did not have a very good experience. Good luck!

Probably married would be my guess!
  13. My 1/2 Marathon went very well! I finished at 2:57:22, under my 3 hour goal mark! I pretty much only ran the first 10 miles, and around 11 miles is where I began cramping, so a lot of walking to finish!

    Weight Lifting

I lifted prior to surgery, so around the 3ish week mark, I went back to lighter weights and after 4 weeks I was cleared to lift heavy again.
  15. My Husband has been acting a bit strange lately... I was feeling particularly good one day, and said, don't I look good, and he responded very lacklusterly with an.. eh, its ok.. which really hurt my feelings.. he had me feeling like I was vain after I gained my composure and asked him about it later that day.. Finally, he opened up to me this morning about how he really preferred me heavier, and that I'm still heavy in his mind.. he doesn't picture me so "little" but that he loves me and I'm his best friend.. etc.. I was pretty surprised. I know he likes large women. I was a little bit bigger than I am now when we first met.. I don't understand it, I guess cause I'm not attracted to that look.. Anyway, anyone go through this? He refuses to go to counseling..
  16. If he doesn't love you, that doesn't mean something is wrong with YOU, especially if his problem with you is based solely on your weight or dress size. To me, that speaks VOLUMES about him. Think about this... What if you were to be in a car accident and lose a limb? Would he be justified in no longer loving you because you were disabled? What if you were in a fire and your face got burned? Is it OK for him to no longer love you after that? What if you developed a thyroid disorder and got really fat? Or cancer and got really thin? Would you love him no matter what? You are you for your insides much more than the outside. Yes, initial attraction is based on looks a lot of the time. Love over 10, 15, 20 years should be so much more than that. Don't battle his demons for him. Value yourself. But I changed myself. He knew that if I got wls I would be successful, which is why I think he was against it so long. But he did say he loved me regardless, that I was his best friend.. now I just think that he is thinking about something else LOL. I do not know how old you are or how long your relationship is - but my husband and I married in our 20s. I remember as we began to get older, and I wondered about attractiveness, things he mentioned, struggling with both of us getting older and I told him, look at some point, if we both are fortunate you will be married to an 80 yr old woman who is still interested in being sexually active - so get over whatever issues you are having. I am a feminine woman in love with a manly man. that ought to be enough. Thankfully he dealt with those issues and we have never had another hiccup no matter what my weight has been, or no matter what our age has been. You deserve this, he does too, and so I hope that he can reconcile any issues he may have. We were married at 19 and 21.. and have been married 16 years, with 2 kiddos. Quite the opposite, I actually FEEL attractive now, and have much more sex drive. He's always had a high sex drive.. he could have sex 5 times a day if I wanted to.. I've always had an extremely low drive, so wls has been good for that..
  17. Actually, I had asked if anyone else had went through this.. I don't think I had an oversensitive reaction? But I still am questioning the responses.. does that mean he doesn't love me cause of his the look he is attracted to? I should leave him? I'm just unlucky? I didn't really say much, except that it did kind of shock me, like maybe something is wrong with me.
  18. I could be taking it the wrong way, but I did find the two posts by Babbs and Ann pretty insensitive.. Like.. maybe my husband doesn't love me because he is attracted to bigger women? I had no idea how to take that. I hope that wasn't the intent..
  19. And that is the thing.. I've always looked nice.. always done my makeup and hair, etc!

  21. @@bayougirlmrsc and that's the thing. He's a good man.. right now we are ok.. but I do find myself thinking about his attraction to bigger women. I don't find bigger women attractive, so that's why I don't get it. because I felt repulsive when I was bigger.. I'm just now finding myself attractive..
  22. I don't feel that people who know me treat me much different, its strangers mostly.. Men rush to get the door for me, where as when I was 300 pounds and carrying a toddler and bags, no one really helped. women talk to me in the grocery store.. or wherever I am.. I've always been outgoing, but had to speak first.. now people talk to me first or engage me.
  23. I personally prefer protein shakes. I still drink at least one a day to help get my protein requirements in.
