What's the deal with CAFFEINE ?!
Chrystee replied to bajagal101's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So interesting.. My doctor hasn't mentioned anything about no caffeine, just no sodas. -
How does Sleep Apnea complicate the VSG date?
Chrystee replied to Slimsoon1988's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with the others who provided explanation.. if you are very thirsty, you may be snoring, or sleeping with your mouth open.. Have you ever been sick and noticed how dry your mouth is or chapped your lips are cause you are mouth breathing? That isn't normal at all. Most people do not wake at night to drink or go to the bathroom. My husband wakes several times a night and has 2 bottles of Water on his nightstand and pees about 2-3 times. He snores very loud and I can hear him stop breathing. He refuses to wear a mask. I also have SA, and had my test over 10 years ago, so they have to redo my darn test (this Friday, and scheduled it a month ago), and I am getting a new machine, etc. -
its kind of funny, since they remove part of our stomach that produces the hunger hormone in surgery.. I've just had a hard time on my pre-op, but keep trying.

I've been on my pre-op and noticed that too, when i'm following it well, I can be really moody. You look amazing! I'm loving reading your progress! -
Anyone looking at a January date for surgery?
Chrystee replied to Chrystee's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i'm jealous. I couldn't make it up to the office again this month and I have to have 6 appts. so 2 in December and 2 in January.. but its fine, cause we close on our house Dec. 19th and we will be moving through January, so it will already be high stress. -

If you really feel dehydrated get some pedialyte.. It absorbs quickly. I was very sick during pregnancy, and it was the only thing that I could get down that absorbed quicker than I could throw it up. -

Has anyone not told anyone about having surgery?
Chrystee replied to Ky89's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am a very open person, so I've told a few people, but I'm also sensitive to comments. I got a few negative comments (from the two people I thought would be my biggest supporters) and I decided not to tell anyone else. its up to you. Obviously my husband knows. Can you stay any longer than 2 days at the hotel or nearby? Living so far away, I think I'd try to stay a week and just chill out/take it easy. -

How's everyone doing? I have my second NUT visit on friday. I've lost about 10 pounds since my first consultation.. So I'm excited to see what they say. Hopefully my loss will continue and I'll be 20-30 pounds lighter before my surgery. -
Only 5 pounds??? I hope I don't have to limit to 5 pounds!

Goal weight and family negative family members

People hate when other people have success at something that they know they have issues with as well. My sister and I got into a fight when I made my decision, and I think that she really was worried I would be the smaller sister and she'd be left alone fat.. and it forces her to think about her choices and it kind of smacks her in the face, you know? -
Pre-op diet...... Destroyed!

Awesome! I just started my 3 month medically supervised diet, and I'm doing well! -
You should seriously start.. It will make a HUGE difference.

@claudia123 I plan on continuing to work hard up until my surgery.. My Doctor said I should be able to mostly go back about 2 weeks after with light lifting.. and full return 3-4 weeks.

@ You'll get there!! It isn't that far away! -
I think that in today's day and age, we just eat far too much wheat in the first place. Everything processed has some kind of wheat added, and then it makes a lot of people crave it. There is a lot of side effects of a high carb diet, that aren't good.
