For those of you who don't know your date...
Chrystee replied to JenSul's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Depends on how long you have to see the NUT. I had to do 6 visits. I could do one a month or twice a month. I ended up doing mostly once a month, with the last 3 appts every 2 weeks. You have to complete all your pre-Op tests, and get whatever clearances they require (mine required cardio, which I had to do an echocardio, stress test.. and pulmonology, which required a sleep study and a breathing test.. blood tests.. I have to do an endoscopy.. a psych clearance.. I thought I'd be done in 4 months.. but my friend said probably more like 6-8 months, and my first appointment was in September, and I should be scheduled for March. -
That wasn't me per the socks.. I just like thin athletic socks. The shoes make the diff for me!

Why Did You Choose Your Specific Type of Weight Loss Surgery?
Chrystee replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am choosing the sleeve, because I don't want to deal with malabsorbtion, and don't want my insides rearranged. My surgeon no longer does the band, so its between the sleeve and bypass. I also like the bit slower weight loss, hoping that will help my skin recover better. -
Would you like to be on The View with Rosie O'Donnel ?
Chrystee replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Wish I could, but I have my endoscopy scheduled that day! -
My sister got weird about it at first. I think because she was worried about it. Its major surgery.. and to be fair, things can happen.. Finally I just told her to stop being a b****! I also think because she's always been smaller (but she is overweight) that I will then be the "skinny" one. My friend who has been through it said that by me doing this, she will be forced to sort of face her own food demons. So, after my mom and sister acted weird.. I had told a few people, and got mostly support (or a bunch of have you tried this? What about this?), I decided I'm not really telling anyone else, and I'll just tell people after, when they start noticing. Its a very personal choice. If you want to tell the world, and be the face of bariatric surgery, then go ahead, otherwise, you don't have to tell anyone at all.

Plain yogurt = *gag*... Help!
Chrystee replied to MamaTo3inNH's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I always suggest for people to look into the whole 30.. no processed, no junk, no sugar or grains.. you will really figure out that there are things we shouldn't be eating! I love greek yogurt.. and hate kefir.. *shudder* -
Anyone looking at a January date for surgery?
Chrystee replied to Chrystee's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Any updates? I'll probably have a date in late February or the beginning of March.. I have two more NUT appts, this Friday, and the 30th and I have my endoscopy on the 29th. Then I'll be put in for insurance approval, which they said takes about 2 weeks and then i'll be scheduled for my final appointment with the surgeon, which they said my surgery is scheduled two weeks from that appt. Excited.. nervous.. ready.. -
@@Brians147 good advice! I've got the exercise down, but I cannot wait to be able to take it to the next level.

How does Sleep Apnea complicate the VSG date?
Chrystee replied to Slimsoon1988's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well, I had to redo my sleep study from 10 years ago, and low and behold! I no longer have sleep apnea! I was really surprised. I'm thinking the higher intensity exercise I've been doing has changed it for me! -

Not everyone has the skin.. but good news.. you can save or finance! I wouldn't let that stop me.
-
Thanks for the advise! I actually already get rashes under my big boobs from exercise! So I'll mention it.

I agree with all points.. Most likely IT band.. and definitely get the minimal type shoes. I had horrible shin splints, until I switched.

I think she did it so she could feel better about herself or something! Next time I would say NO THANKS.
