2 Days Post Open Severe Nausea
Chrystee replied to ssourgirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had anti nausea in my IV in the hospitals and was prescribed zofran. Eating ice chips helped a lot. -
I'm feeling totally normal now! A week and a half out.. 29 pounds down since 2 week liquids!
-
I agree.. I would actually take a break from working out this weekend.. Drink your shakes and see how you are Monday.
-
You can lose 5 pounds over the weekend.. lots of water.. and 3 Protein Shakes a day. 25-30 grams of Protein and lowest carbs you can find (under 5 grams). I had lots of broths and Soup and I think the sodium content made me retain water.. I cut those out and lost 11 pounds on my 2 week preop diet.
-
By 8 hours out I was having ice chips..
-
Small sips and bites. Chew very well. It's all swollen and a small hole. I have to take tiny sips. It's killing me not to guzzle a whole bottle of water!
-
It wasn't that bad to me. I was so worked up about the gas pains. Just ask for your pain meds and you'll be fine.
-
I'm one week post op and had my follow up today.. I'm having back pains too.. across my shoulder blades area, my surgeons said that is normal and has to do with nerves that are cut.. Same issues with getting down liquids. I'm probably getting like 20 oz water and 11 oz protein drink (30 protein). I'm working on that.

I'm a week out! I'm feeling good and heading to my follow up appt.. Down 24 pounds.. 11 Preop and 13 since surgery.
-
Feeling pretty good at 5 days post op! Cutting back on pain meds and got a mile walkin on Friday and Saturday!
-
Finally 3 days post op and starting to feel human!
-
Finally starting to feel better.. Trying to make sure I got my liquids in..
-
Wow I'm jealous! I feel crappy!
-
Michelle are you still on pain killers? I Feel ok when I'm in them but def feel it when they are wearing off.
-
Ugh. Still feeling like crap.
-
Doing well.. Still on morphine but the pain is manageable. Getting ready to go walk for a bit. I feel swollen and empty

I'm on my way to the hospital for 730 surgery! Newgirlfrommd... I'm the same! And I'm from md too!

You aren't going to lose every day.. I lost 7 pounds like the first 5 days.. then went to two tough spinning classes two days in a row, and gained 3 pounds.. then lost that.. then stayed at 7 pounds lost until this morning, so 11 pounds lost in 2 weeks.. I'm really going to try to only weigh once a week. I'm surprised they didn't have chicken soup! We live 2 hours away from the hospital, and I was told I will have a private room, and my husband is staying with me. My NUT told me to expect two nights, but I am hoping for 1. I am off 2.5 weeks. So, my surgeon said they do the leak test while you are under, before they seal you up.. anyone else have/hear this?? 31 pounds just during liquids??

I'm done going through this procedure
Chrystee replied to humblestar25's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I remember when no insurance would even cover it! That's why it took me so long to get to this point.. There is a reason there are "so many hoops" I don't understand why its so ridiculous either? I had to get the standard tests and clearances like everyone else.. but why wouldn't I? Should they perform a surgery on someone with heart problems? What if they need something special and aren't ready for it? They need to know all they can! -
Perplexed. Surgeon says no such thing as a "stall"
Chrystee replied to kndoster's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Aww, I feel like some of the responses are harsh.. It has to be confusing for your doctor to put big expectations on your weight loss, bigger than your own, then tell you that stalls don't exist.. and I understand about not just telling you it happens, deal with it. -
I'm done going through this procedure
Chrystee replied to humblestar25's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story

I went through that so many times.. back and forth on my decision to have WLS.. finally I'm having it tomorrow. But good luck! Believing you can do it is a big part of the way to achieving it. I just kept gaining and gaining. But at 200 pounds, are you even a candidate for WLS?

Either way, I felt that way many times.. I started in September and just finished all my requirements.. good luck!
-
Bariatric Vitamin home delivery good? Or No?
Chrystee replied to Elode's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yep, I love it. Came right to my house. And its all dissolvable! -
That's how I was. I did some light exercising.. but haven't exercised in a week.. beyond cleaning, cleaning, cleaning my house.. I did a trial day too> I would just try to get some a little walk here and there.. I usually work out really hard, and I took a break from that.. I did a lot of cleaning too. I'm at 730 Wednesday morning! This time tomorrow I should be in recovery! I'm down 11 pounds! Fun isn't really the point though!
-
One more day! I'm getting nervous now.. Jealous of all you that only have 4-5 days of liquids. I'm so over liquids.
