Am I going through STARVATION MODE?!
Chrystee replied to x0CheekzVSG's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At a week out, you really aren't going to be hungry. What I did was sip, sip, sip.. It took me all day to drink a full Protein shake.. I had half in the morning, half in the afternoon.. in between that I had Water, water, water. At night I had Jello, or broth, or Soup. Your new stomach is still irritated and swollen, so no, you probably won't feel hunger, and if you keep sipping all day, you wont' either. You did mention you felt hungry, then said you didn't have head hunger.. and weren't hungry. At this point, you can't "listen" to your hunger cues, because you probably won't have them. I think it will be awhile till you can do that.. I made the mistake early of going to long in between meal times and had some dizziness and lightheadedness. Some of these ladies have been around the block awhile, its best to pay attention to what they are telling you.. -

8 days post op pain even when drinking fluids

Very small sips and bite.. chew it up well.. even greek yogurt. I let it melt in my mouth sort of, first. -
9days PostOp: Not hungry...barely eating
Chrystee replied to ladycook9713's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did this with greek yogurt. It's a terrific protein boost and taste like pudding. Hmm.. good idea with the yogurt! I'll try that. -
So what did you say to Number 3's insult? And he would have issues if you got fat again? What about when you get married and have a baby (if you plan on it).. then what? That means he is going to leave? I'd dump him.. I've been married 15 years.. and although I was smaller when I got married (size 18).. I've gotten bigger since.. this is the first time i'm actually losing and will probably be thin. the positive side tho, is that you'll probably want to work out with him, and you can get a rockin bod.. but people who don't have compassion for things that we can't always control concern me.

I was choking through one Protein drink a day.. it was hard to really get much down, so I was basically sipping it all day.. once I could move to softs, it is much better. and yes, I got sick of the sweet tastes.. once I could have eggs, plain greek yogurt and white fish, I was so happy.. so yes, you will get there.. 1st just make sure you are getting in your liquids/water, then focus on Proteins. -
Too much food?
Chrystee replied to Weighting2BeFree's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 3 weeks post. I can eat one egg.. maybe 3/4's cup of soup.. only 1/2 container of greek yogurt. I limit starches/carbs. Get your Protein in first. -
9 pounds is great. seriously.. you won't lose weight every day. Normally I lose, then stay the same 3-4 days, then drop 1-2 pounds. just keep going. try to limit weighing in if its going to frustrate you. keep going. follow your rules..

Are you following a Paleo Diet?
Chrystee replied to My Bariatric Life's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Agree. I did lost 55 pounds doing Paleo/crossfit and cardio, but I had to still watch my carb intake. My fat intake was higher, but the carbs killed me. I actually have PCOS, and doing a whole 30 then paleo got my body so regular that I had normal cycles and got pregnant.. unfortunately, I couldn't tolerate meat or much of anything after I was pregnant and gained it all back.. ugh. I think the biggest key to paleo is cutting out processed foods. EAting more naturally. -

Would like some advice about what to tell work
Chrystee replied to Vikingsfan8178's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I told my boss that I was scheduled to have surgery.. I said I was having a minor procedure and would like to work at home for 2 weeks.. He said that was fine with him, and here I am on my second week.. You don't OWE anyone anything, and he's really not allowed to ask. If he is concerned, just say, Oh, just some stuff I've been putting off.. -
I love almond milk in mine! Makes them so much creamier than just with Water. and I would love a pickle right now!!

LOL Agree.. Those are the ones you will see who had a "failed" surgery.. or regain. I don't plan on going back to my life prior to WLS!
