1 week post fear I may be losing too fast
Chrystee replied to Joshua Barbour's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes this is true. But it depends on the person. I started off with a BMI over 60 and a net weight of 400+ pounds so I think I will continue to shed at a more rapid weight than someone starting off with a BMI of 40. Plus adding exercise (long brisk walks) helps too. It will be very interesting to see where I am in 90 days. Im pretty excited and motivated thus far! Plus if it doesnt slow down I would weigh 0 pounds at the end of 4 months I started at 314.. it still will slow down.. some people lose it all in 6 months.. others take 18 months.. I'm just saying that you wont' continue to lose 40 pounds a month. I've lost 40 in 2 months.. and workout very rigorously.. Let me clarify my post... Yes, it will slow down. This is a biological fact. However, the rate at which it slows is dependent upon nutrition intake, exercise and starting BMI (some even say attitude). Im not disagreeing with anyone that says it will slow down. There is no doubt whatsoever about this. Im just stating the rate of decline will be different for everyone. I dont expect nor would I want to loose at my current rate forever as I would soon be invisible in less than 5 months Geesh.. yes, that is what I was saying anyway.. the OP says he is worried about the rate of loss.. I'm not sure why you think I am talking directly to you, @@scrosler, I was commenting to the OP.. but Ok. -

Athletes - Quick Nutrition during long workouts?
Chrystee posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Advice on long bike rides? If I do a 15+ bike ride I can feel myself stalling out and running out of energy.. I've seen Gu and other things like that, but are they too sugary? I don't care for Protein shakes while working out. I prefer Water. The shakes are took thick and chalky.. -

It will slow down.. trust. -
Sounds like the 3 week stall! I just came out of mine 2 weeks ago.. It will start moving again.. and 51 pounds is amazing!! Just keep going. I got frustrated and started thinking that I was failing.. but then once I increased my calories, per my NUT, it totally started going again. I hope you do too.. I'm just about 7 weeks out and I feel amazing.

It will move! I was surprised to see that I've lost 5 pounds since Saturday, after no loss for 22 days, and even up and down 2 pounds during that time. Start moving a little more.. Get your heart rate up a bit more than walking.

Is anyone freezing?
Chrystee replied to LisaDomalewski's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was always hot till I had my kids.. then my temp change.. but its even worse now.. I'm absolutely freezing, always. It can also be a sign of low Iron, so make sure you are getting your iron. -
Increased calories and weight gain
Chrystee posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my second follow up on 4/14, and my Dr. and Nut wanted to increase my calories 800-1000. I had been getting in about 4-600 calories a day, and hit the 3 week stall, so I've been stalled about 2 weeks now. This morning I was up 2.6 pounds. I'm trying hard not to freak out about it, but I am definitely having the feelings of this isn't going to work for me and wtf. So, did this happen to anyone else? I'm focusing on getting in my Protein and liquids. I've been getting at least 60-85 grams of protein a day, and mostly staying lower carbs. They want me to start getting in more veggies also. I'm still mostly soft foods right now. Any advice? -

Hmm.. I think I would try to keep the talk of weight loss/surgery to a minimum with her.. it sounds like its more of an irrational fear at this point for you. -

I was pregnant less than 2 years ago, started the process last September, and they considered my starting weight from the day that I had my first consult in September. -
what is your name on mfp? I am Chrystee.

Thanks! I was really getting upset and worried! I work out plenty and work out hard, so I just have that little nagging voice of maybe this wont work, and it scared me!! I keep track on MFP @@heav85 , only because I don't trust myself.

Overnight bag? What did you pack?
Chrystee replied to MissLiss's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Way too much. I had several clothes and pajamas, kindle, soap and shower stuff, phone and charger, pillow.. The only thing I truly needed was a comfy outfit to wear home, my phone and charger and my pillow for the ride home. I didn't even open my bag for anything else. I was just an overnight stay, but even getting on my phone was a lot. -
Dumping syndrome with sleeve?
Chrystee replied to Jess55's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It really depends. I had my first vomiting dump last night, because I was overhungry and I ate really fast..
