50 lbs LOST!

You will get there, keep it up! 50 pounds in 3 months is outstanding!
  2. You are cracking me up with your pranks and this. LOL! I'm going to Australia soon.. and I'm hoping to be 90-100 pounds down by then, because otherwise, OMG, the flight is SO long, and I would be so terribly uncomfortable before!! I can't wait to put on a regular airplane seatbelt and it not be on the very end of the belt..

    No Wonder I Wasn’t Skinny!

did she home make everything? I think that was a big difference vs. prepackaged crap. Plus.. if you didn't make enough to feed an army, and just for the dinner.
  4. Its so weird to put on clothes that I used to wear that were SO tight.. and now.. they are way too big..

      Congratulations, Chrystee!!

It is very exciting to start fitting into smaller clothes!! And as @LisaLouBop said - even when the scale doesn't budge (mine's been stuck, too), the clothes still get bigger because the inches keep coming off.

Yeah! My favorite thing to do is put on both the clothes I was wearing before surgery and clothes that I have purchased that are one size smaller than I am currently wearing.it is so motivating!!!

    Am I really that vain?

I'm down a little over 60 and people are JUST starting to notice, and I'm 5'5. Plus, if these people see you often, the change is kind of gradual.. They'll notice soon!
  8. I do too, because the only times I REALLY wanted to have a drink was while I was pregnant and right now! LMAO. I never even drink very often.. but because I CAN'T have any, I want one so bad.

Exercise for the sake of exercise

There's been several ideas.. can you look on craigslist for someone selling a recumbent bike? I have high energy too, so I clean, do laundry, etc.. but I have a family of 4. do you have a gym nearby? My gym has a hand bike. I see people using that who have disabilities.. you could get some weights and start doing some weight exercises.. Swimming is also a great exercise.. do you have a pool close by?

You have to find something you LOVE.. I love crossfit, weightlifting and cycling.. I LOVE my bike..
  11. Wow.. Less than 100 pounds to go. Crazy.

  12. Its crazy.. I've only lost 60 pounds, and you are actually smaller than I am, but just being able to move better.. I can't even tell you how much it means..
  13. YES to all of these.. I can now fit comfortably in a booth.. I can dry my clothes! My pants! My shirts.. Was I just wearing too small of a size? We keep our a/c at 76/77 now! We used to keep it at 70 degrees!! I would freeze! At work I am SO cold.. only thing that I hate is that I'm cold all the time. Also, wiping was becoming an issue. How embarrassing!! UGH. Now, its no problem.

    No Wonder I Wasn’t Skinny!

I don't really think anyone is "blaming" it all on our Mom's.. Most of our Moms or Grandmothers probably grew up or lived during the depression.. which had an effect on our parents or us. In my case, my Grandmother did. So, while my Grandmother was thin, cause she barely ate, she fed my Mom and my Grandpa fattening depression foods. My Mom grew up on that (and then she was a teen Mom, so I did too). Everyone else was thin in the 60s/70s while my Mom was heavier than everyone else, though, not a lot.. she was just chubby.. Coming along with the 50s/60s/70s were all the boxed, canned foods. Also before the 50s/60s people farmed their land. Before WW2, people had gardens in their front and back yards.. but something happened where we decided that was unacceptable and needed to have grass and manicured lawns.. Ive heard people tell me a diet plate back in the 50s was a broiled hamburger patty, green Beans and pickles. All low carb foods.. somewhere, we decided that we needed more grains and less meats. Less fats and more carbs..

    No Wonder I Wasn’t Skinny!

I love my Mom, but growing up, she was always on a fad diet.. cabbage Soup diet.. the b12 shots diet.. phen/fen.. As a toddler, my Grandmother made me sit at the table with an adult size plate and I rmemeber sitting there until it was very dark outside, forcing me to eat my plate until I was done, before I could get up.. then later in life, my stepfather fixing very cheap/unhealthy foods.. hamburger helper was one I remember. Canned veggies like corn and peas.. With my kids, there is always a fresh veggie with our meals, we don't fry foods, we eat a lot of chicken and fish, and I allow them to eat until they are done. As toddlers, I NEVER force them to eat. They'll eat when hungry. If they don't want it, then they don't have to eat.
  16. She posts it every week? I was under the impression you saw it numerous Times.. I see it too..
  17. I'm pretty happy with my weight loss.. but when I go a week or two without losing.. I start the little panic, and the voices in my head telling me, yep, that's it.. you aren't going to lose anymore! Then i'll lose 5 pounds. LOL
  18. What is a lie? I was that patient.. eating 300, 400 or 500 calories and working out like crazy and stopped losing. I had to increase calories.. HAHA, I remember posting one of those.. You KNOW that it will work.. You KNOW you will get there, but there is that panic, that maybe, just maybe you are the % that the surgery won't help.. It is scary.

Remember you can expect 8-10 pounds a month, so everyone is losing pretty well.

Really look at what you are eating.. Watermelon is full of sugar.. Do you need more protein? I have no problem getting my protein in.. Yogurt, cheese sticks, fish, chicken are my main go to foods

A good Protein Drink helps me too, with cravings.. and maybe a little dark chocolate, or trail mix type thing. I make sure the carbs are low, and doesn't contain a lot of sugar.

I'm so glad I made this decision. I have a trip to Australia in September for work, and the travel time is SO long.. I hope to be at the 80-100 pounds lost by then..
