Take it!

God.. Now I don't know if I want any. LOL
-
I don't think its really rude.. most people who I talked to who were sharing the details of their plastics were happy to talk about it.. whether they financed, how they financed or if insurance covered anything..

Personally, I believe that carb intake percentage is much too high. Post-op patients should focus on protein first. Good quality fats are important.. olive oil/avocado type fats are important for us. Most PO should be at a much lower carb level. Less grain type carbs, and more veggie type carbs.

Bypass, Band, or Sleeve? Stats on Weight Loss Surgery by Type!
Chrystee replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm pretty happy with the sleeve.. although I'm still in the honeymoon stage.. sometimes I wonder if I should have went with the RNY. I know a few people who had them, and a couple have gained their weight back with RNY though, and I wanted an easier recovery, and didn't want malabsorption issues. -
Mixed Feelings/2nd Thoughts
Chrystee replied to choosehope's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I went through this from January until my surgery date March 18th of this year.. Sort of a real depression/anxiety.. I knew I was making the right choice.. but what if I died.. I have young kids.. was I TRULY at the point that I was ok with that risk.. or what if something bad happened.. I was mad and angry that I HAD to go through it.. I was snappy with everyone, and felt like I was on edge.. I told a friend I felt like I had been PMS'ing the entire 2.5 months.. I prayed.. a lot.. I ate.. a LOT. It seems almost cruel to put someone on a strict 6 month diet before something like this.. however I'm SO happy I did what I did. Everything went swimminly.. I feel amazing. I'm able to do things I dreamt about, physically.. I can really achieve my dreams and goals one day. I also notice some people go through this depression/anxiety right after surgery.. or in a year after.. I'm so glad I went through it before. -

I mean, how big should they go? cause now my issue sometimes is, the table is so far away from me! -
That is sad to hear. Some people are truly messed up. She was my best friend for 16 years.. this happened about 4 years ago.. I still feel pain from it.. It was truly like a nasty bitter divorce..

Usually, I'm pretty even keeled, even on the Internet, but some questions...
Chrystee replied to no onions's topic in Rants & Raves
Exactly. I don't think a lot of times these forum veterans and other judgmental posters realise that their hostile approaches to questions deemed as 'stupid' may be putting off others members from seeking needed advice for very valid and pertinent questions. I find it slightly odd that some forum members are yet to figure out that not all things are created equally especially in terms of the realm of surgery/ medicine and medical programmes. Some folks are berating others for knowing about guidelines about alcohol post surgery but just to illustrate my point about all clinics not being made equal or to the same standards, my bariatric programme/clinicians haven't stated much about alcohol post op apart from a nurse saying that i should bear in mind that if I drink, I would now be intoxicated faster and from smaller amounts'. Nothing about damage to the pouch, empty calories or cross addiction. I think its more of the posts that say stuff like, "I know I'm not supposed to drink, but I'm doing it anyway at 2 weeks post op.. " and there are quite a few like that.. But I agree.. -
Today for lunch I had a small piece of pan seared sockeye salmon and a piece of avocado.

Even back in the day, I would be hitting the bathroom after that! and I would wonder why!!

so.. a few years ago.. my BFF sat me down and had a talk.. She was like, girl, you have got to get this weight off.. you need to be there for your child.. your hubby.. i'm so worried about you, etc.. I got ON IT. I was busy.. I got about 30 pounds off, and all of a sudden she was acting really strange.. My friend had been losing weight too, but baby weight.. she had never been fat before that, and she had lost 60 pounds of weight she gained while being pregnant.. So.. THEN it this jealousy came out.. We stopped being friends over it.. It destroyed me. She was upset cause I was working out harder than her.. or posting about it on facebook.. Just being successful.. nevermind that I had over 100 pounds more to lose.. I miss her, but that was ridiculousness.. Everything was a competition with her.. I had a fairly successful marriage, while hers was ending.. everything.. Unbeknownst to me, she was getting bitter. She told me she was getting accolades from getting fit, and I was "stealing her thunder" (what she actually said to me).

Oh! Whatever! Your Aunt is being salty for sure! Don't cry over that! She's just jealous.. What a brat!
-
I think you should just ask her if you have done something to offend her, and tell her that you miss her.. she might feel like you are doing it specifically in her face.. people can be so fickle! If she was used to getting the attention, and then your new bod is now getting it all..

I love infused Water (water with strawberries, lemons, blueberries, cucumber, mint, you can try any variation!). I also like some sugar free kool aid once in awhile, breaks up the monotony.. You can get the little ones that you spray into your water and mix.. Iced tea is another favorite. I mostly drink plain water, and very VERY cold.. always have.. but sometimes just a little of these things helps.

I thought I was the only one!! That is awesome!! I go to Australia soon for work travel, and I'm SO glad I did this when I did.. that is a long flight! 8.5 shoes were getting so tight to me.. Now they are falling off. I really need new shoes, but I'm trying to wait! I can probably wear a 7.5 or 8 now.. I used to be a 6.5/7 when I was a teenager! -

How accurate is your calorie counting?
Chrystee replied to Sara51692's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
If I'm looking up grilled chicken, I will usually try to put in grilled chicken breast, and look for one that looks about right.. if theres on that is 400 cals, one that is 100 and one that is 280, I'll pick the one in the middle. They have started "verifying" cal counts also, so look for the little green check mark. Then I make sure I add stuff like, a tablespoon of olive oil if I cooked it in that, or whatever.. I didn't really track to much in the very early stages, but I would put in things like my protein drinks and stuff..
