Calling all October Sleevers
juen replied to sleevechic8's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on October 7th. I spent two nights in hospital which was very good..I feel great....no nausea can sip fine. Eating plain Greek nonfat yogurt, premier Protein drinks 2 daily, blenderized homemade cream Soup, Jello, and had 1 sugar free pudding today. I will start pureed food soon, just don't want to push it. I've lost 15 pounds since the surgery and am very excited. I walk daily, but need to increase that probably. I take 40 billion probiotics daily from costco and that seems to help the constipation. Drinking Vitamin 0 Water too, as regular water does not seem to taste very good to me. My birthday was October 18, and that was hard to not go out to dinner, or have cake.....but it is worth it to lose weight and feel better! -
Marriott had wifi....you will be very busy after surgery recovering. Hospital has wi fi too. Hotel is very pleasant and they take you shoppping to the market, beach or whatever the day you leave the hospital. Good idea to have movies downloaded to a tablet for your husband. Best of success to you!

You are brave and it is so worth it!!! I had my gastric sleeve October 7 and am so glad I had it done. Sometimes I forget now that i had it.....I quickly remember when I take too many sips or bites at once lol. I am enjoying blenderized food....protein drinks, greek nonfat plain yougurt. Feeling great. I have lost 15 pounds and have almost normal blood sugar. Just follow all the instructions and you will do great. Remember to walk, walk, walk....it made all the difference. Best wishes for success!!!

Which Doctors Sew over the staples in Mexico?
juen replied to BackToBeautiful's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Dr Cabrera with Mexico Bariatric Center did my surgery October 7, 2014. He sewed over the staples. I have lost 15 pounds and doing great. The whole experience was very good. I am an RN so I'm extra picky, but I found that I was treated very well without any complications. -
Surgery next week but freaking out a bit
juen replied to Cassierene's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Just had the surgery last week. Feeling fine....little weak from clear liquid diet but walked all around costco just fine. I think it is important to take Vitamins, especially Biotin and keep Protein intake up. I will be using Premier Protein from Costco. It is 30 grams of protein and 2 shakes a day will do great People can be negative......very glad I had the surgery! -
I'm to Be Sleeved on 10/25 with Dr. Alvarez - Any Pointers?
juen replied to sukik's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I just came back from surgrey in Mexico with Dr Cabrera. It was a good experience. Make sure you bring comfortable nighty (tshirt type) because you will be walking lots and might not like elastic on your tummy. Gas X strips are amazing and make all the difference. Hope you have a successful surgery! -

Gastric sleeve surgery October 7, 2014
juen replied to juen's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Hi Everyone I got back home on Saturday October 11 2014 and overall had a very good experience and successful surgery. I had no nausea and very little pain. Dr Cabrera was very cordial and seemed to do an excellent job. I have had no signs of infection. I only saw him twice but saw his intern many times. Mi Doctor clinic was very clean with in room air conditioning and hospital beds with private bathroom and shower. The nurses were very kind, and I only had one that seemed very grumpy. The nurse's English was understandable and they would get a translator if you didn't understand. I had the surgery to get rid of Diabetes, and I'm happy to say that my blood sugar is almost normal and I have lost 12 pounds. The hotel was really nice. It was great to talk with other patients there and compare experiences. Walking meant everything after the surgery. It truly helped the gas pain. I highly recommend the Gas x strips as they helped a lot. Wish you all the best! -

Gastric sleeve surgery October 7, 2014
juen replied to juen's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Sorry...I missed your posts. I leave for TJ tomorrow. The liquid diet is really hard, but luckily I only had to do 3 days of complete Clear liquids. I hear that Gastric Sleeve is 95% remission of diabetes. So lets hop it works for us all. My name is June if I happen to see any of you there. I will be staying at the Marriott tomorrow night! Good luck to everyone!
