    Chewable Fiber?

I use Nurtrition Now Adult Fiber Gummies. I take 3 of them a day which gives me 12g of fiber which seems like enough for me. And I just LOVE the taste of them. They are my "sweet tooth" killers, and they only have 1g of carbs.
  2. @@wannaBthinsoon It's all good, I knew you were talking to me.
  3. @@wannaBthinsoon I get it that its just beneath the skin and all, its just I don't think my brain will allow me to stick myself. I'm not worried about it hurting at all, its just I would have to pay attention to what I'm doing and I can't see myself watching it.
  4. @@BitterSweet* I completely understand where you're coming from, however I will have to ask about that when I see her for my final pre-op tomorrow. It's actually 2x per day for 12 days with Lovenox, and 3x per day with Heparin. It all depends on which one my insurance company will pay for. To my knowledge I do not have any pre-existing condition that would require me to have to take addition injections after I leave the hospital. I do have Rheumatoid Arthritis, and maybe one of the medications I take for that might have something to do with it.
  5. My surgery is coming on December 12th, and my surgeon has already told me that I have to do it for 12 days 3x a day after I leave the hospital. My daughter lives with me and she's going to have to do it for me. How did you guys get past the mental part of injecting yourself? My brain just won't wrap around sticking myself with a needle. I get panicky just thinking about it.
  6. @@Kindle You look absolutely amazing my friend, and you are an inspiration to me and a lot more people as well.
  7. I am just a few days into my pre-op all liquid diet, and I'm so hungry I want to eat my furniture! How did you get through this early stage? Were you restricted as I am to liquids only, absolutely no food? I really don't know if I can make it through another week and a half of this. This is absolute TORTURE!!!

    Fear and Loathing in Denial

    @@matt1912 Thank you so much for sharing your story. This is definitely P O W E R F U L!!!
  9. I think it mostly depends on your surgeon's schedule. My surgeon's assistant gave me a number of different dates that my doctor was available, and I got to pick which date I wanted.
  10. @@Alex Brecher I think something that would be very beneficial to this community would be to set up online webinars here on BP. You could set something up for maybe once a month with a doctor, psychologist, nutritionist, etc. that could answer questions that members may have. Just my 2 cents

Offered to be sleeved in December!

If your nerves are as bad as you mentioned, if I were you I would have gone ahead and done it in December. That way you would have it out of the way and go into the new year being a brand new you!
  12. Such wonderful news! There is a high that you get after you learn you've been approved that you just can't describe.

Heyyy, anybody in the Washington,DC area?

I am in Silver Spring, Maryland... I have my surgery on December 12th at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital. My doctor is Tuesday Cook. I have UHC, which covers everything 100% with no co-pays. However I did have to pay a $500 program fee which covered by psych eval, my Nut visit, and 10 exercise classes at the hospital's gym. I had to have 2 exercise classes before my paperwork was submitted, and I can use the other 8 anytime I want to after surgery. My insurance approval took less than 48 hours.
  14. For those who have already had surgery, what do you consider a "sip"? Teaspoon, Tablespoon...?
  15. @@Soopie and @@crisi0001 I just sent both of you an invitation.

@@finediva and @@SuperDave Thanks for the encouragement. Just knowing that others did actually make it through this hellish 2 weeks is encouraging.

    Kind of a silly question......

@@SuperDave Thanks for your response and confirmation!
  18. I told my job that I was having surgery, and that was the end of the discussion. It's none of their business what I'm having done. I told them how long I would be out and that was pretty much the end of it. No more conversation needed. I totally agree that some people are just too nosy and too gossipy, and I don't need anyone's advice or diagnosis other than my doctor.

    My ass is melting

Thank you all so much for the laugh today. Some of your responses were just hilarious! I don't have much of a bum right now, but to lose what I have could be quite disturbing.
  20. I bought 2 different flavors of the tea to use after surgery. I haven't tasted either of them yet, but I know that I am very prone to constipation when taking pain medications. I'm a whimp when it comes to pain, so I know I'll get constipated, and want to be able to have something to handle it before it gets too bad.

Will this pass? Is this normal?

After reading all the posts about what's normal and what's not, I'm really starting to believe that there aren't too many things that aren't normal. Your body has just gone through some major trauma, and it's going to take a while for it to recover and figure out what the hell happened!

    GRATEFUL!

Congratulations and you should be proud of yourself. You're doing a great job!
  23. I had my endoscopy done over a month ago and my doctor diagnosed me with gastritis at that time. She put me on Protonix everyday until my surgery on Dec. 12th.
