GreenEyes604 replied to tenzinblue's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Join the Facebook group.... BPBariatricDecember@groups.facebook.com I have seen a ton of requests for a Facebook group for December sleevers, so I created one. The name of the group is: BP December Sleevers & Mentors The group is a closed group, and will only be for those of us on BP that are being sleeved in December. Also if you have a mentor you are welcome to invite them as well. You can find the group very easily by just searching by the group name, so please come and join! Let me know if you have any problems. Michelle -

Telling about surgery
GreenEyes604 replied to kimpossible67's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@thesuse2000 You are totally entitled to your opinion, I just happen to totally disagree with you. I don't understand why you feel that I am not being honest because I'm not divulging every piece of information about what I'm doing. Nothing I said was untrue, but it sounds to me like if I don't give someone all the details that I'm telling a lie which to me is totally ridiculous. You may not agree with the way others think and view things, but I would caution you about the way the words that you use come out. I'm not hear to judge you, but I don't take to kindly to being called a liar, and that's exactly how you came across. And that's MY opinion! -
@mz.newlife54 No worries at all sistafriend! God's got you, and nothing else matters. Best wishes and a speedy recovery. Keep us posted on your progress…. Michelle

I truly believe that if you go into your surgery with a positive "can do" attitude, you've got half the battle won. Thinking positive and telling yourself everything you "can do" instead of what you "can't do", will carry you a very long way. Best wishes and speedy recoveries to all you beautiful ladies!

Telling about surgery
GreenEyes604 replied to kimpossible67's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am one of those people who isn't telling. There are only 2 people who know about my decision. One is my daughter (because she lives with me), and a very dear friend who had the surgery a little over a year ago and is my sounding board. I'm not ashamed by any means of the decision that I have made to have WLS, I'm just a very private about my personal life. If someone asks me I won't lie about it, I'll just say that I am eating less, exercising, and eating healthy which is all 100% true. Anything past that I really feel is no one's business but mine. My friend Grant who had the surgery a year ago was completely transparent to everyone he came in contact with that he was having the surgery, and kept everyone informed step-by-step during his process from day one until today. He posts pictures all the time, how much he's lost, and everything he does. He is so opposite from me in that regard, and I asked him why did handled it that way. His response to me kinda shocked me, but I totally understood where he was coming from. He said that he tells everyone everything because he needs the validation from others that he's doing a good job, and looks great in order to stay motivated. I don't know, maybe because I've always been a self-starter I've never really needed the approval or validation from others about what I do. I've never needed the "pat on the back" for a job well done, or other types of accolades. I just do what I do, and I love doing it, and I'm proud of me for doing a great job. Maybe I'm just weird! -
Using PB2 on Liquid Diet

Asking for video of your own surgery

@ The Candidate When I had my endoscopy my doctor gave me some stills. I really didn't have any idea what the heck I was looking at, but it was still pretty cool to see. -
@@Bruce Peter I would just send them the data card and when they are done with it, they can send it back to you. That's some major BS that they want you to drive all that way for them to do something that will take them 5 minutes. I damn sure wouldn't do it.

Definitely Not The Reaction I Expected @_@ Sad and Disappointed
GreenEyes604 posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm sitting here at my desk at work and I just feel kinda numb. I've been so unbelievably excited about getting sleeved, and starting a brand new life, with a brand new body and a brand new me. I have been calling my doctor's office, and my insurance company everyday this week to find out the status of my doctor's request for escalation. My insurance company requires 6 months of doctor supervised weight loss, I've only completed 4 but all of my other requirements have been met and my surgeon felt it was worth a try to see if they would let me have my surgery early. When I called the insurance company today, they told me that pending my final approval (which should come within the next week), my surgery date is scheduled for December 16th. I thoroughly expected that I would be jumping up and down, yelling and screaming from joy. But instead I'm just kinda numb and somber. Maybe it actually hasn't really set in with me yet, or maybe I'm still grieving the loss of one of my beloved cats on Tuesday, but I so expected a completely different reaction to this wonderful news. Has anyone else felt this way when they first found out, and if so, did the blah feeling go away, and the excitement return? I have a monthly pre-op support group to go to tonight, and maybe I'll bring this up at the meeting. Just really disappointed in my reaction -

What does 5:2 program mean
GreenEyes604 replied to jwantlan's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Eat what you want five days a week, send your body to starvation mode for two. Dieters are recommended to consume a ‘normal’ number of calories five days a week and then, for two, non-consecutive days, eat just 25% of their usual calorie total - 500 calories for women and 600 for men. There are no restrictions on the types of food you can eat and it is suggested that women can expect to lose about a 1lb a week on the diet with men losing about the same if not a little more. -
Waiting for surgery today!

Best of luck and prayers for a speedy recovery -
@@Bruce Peter The memory card has extremely detailed information on it which tells the doctor how often you're using it, how long you use it, if your mask has any air leakage, etc. It tells the doctor whether or not you're using the machine like you should be. @ I have the newest version of the ResMed CPAP and I absolutely love it! I haven't been sleeved yet (coming in December) but it has definitely changed my sleeping for the better.
