African American vsgers!
Peekboo replied to theshrinkingdutchess's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hello everyone, I want to respond about hair issues. I was worried about hair loss. I am relaxed and no color :-). I heard about Andrew Lessman, hair, skin and nails vitamins. I bought them and did not experience hair loss. I cant say it was the only reason but I swear by them. I also take the other required vitamins. Make sure your iron level is good or you will definitely have hair issues. Good luck everyone. -

@@kathy, my hair never shed very much, maybe a few weeks of minimal shedding. I take the ha, skim and nails vitamin s by Andrew Lessman at HSN. I have taken them for a few years. I think they helped but can't say for sure. The body pump class is lifting light weights for a lot of repetitions. I love it :-) -

@@kathy,I have been working out 3 times a week. I do water aerobics and body pump. I do the body pump more often because im so cold after the water class. The nutritionist told me that the body pump is great for building muscle and that I may be losing but gaining muscle. She said to definitely stay as much under 50 grams of carbs a day and do more treadmill or elliptical to lose a bit faster. I will try it this week. Keep me posted. -

I finally made it under 180! Just under, but it's a good motivator. I have been in the 180s for over 2 months. The nutritionist told me to add more calories on the days I workout and I think it worked. Everyone here seems to be doing great. I must admit that during my slow loss, I was getting more carbs than I should. We can do this! -

ASleevestory, sounds like you are doing great! I was sleeved on 7 October and have lost about 50 percent of my excess weight as well. I had hoped to be moving a bit faster but I will have to be more patient. I have been eating too many carbs :-) Best of luck in your journey too. Keep us posted. -

Kathy, what was your goal for your six month appointment? I really wanted to be 15 pounds less than at 4 months but I think it will just be 10, hopefully. -

I too have noticed much more hunger and capacity which I find hard to resist. I have my 6 month appointment on Friday and I'm afraid that I haven't lost much since my 4 month weigh in. Hopefully I lose few more pounds before Friday. Any suggestions would be helpful. I seemed to be hooked on milky coffee drinks -

Sleevediva Congratulations and welcome to the losers group :-) Just stick to soups and protein drinks and maybe gatorade. Your sleeve is healing so let it rest. The time will go quickly! -

Hi Jerzy I will be six months out on Tuesday and I have only lost si pounds in the last 5 weeks. I think maybe the 1100 calories is too much. Unfortunately, I find that I am hungry but never starving. I am going to try the liquids again and see what happens. I will keep you posted. -

Jmsgal, I see a difference in myself but not what others see. I still go look in the plus sizes at clothes. Maybe we should go and try our old clothes on and see if we feel differently. -

Hi Ll, I will be 6 months out on the 7th of April. I am getting about 1000 calories a day but haven't lost much at all this month. I can eat a larger portion now too. Or let me say, I find I am hungry couple hours after eating. I am worried because I have been a slower loser from the start. -
