Hello I am new to the forum as well as the journey to weight loss surgery. Brief introduction I am 26 years old and weighs 295. I just spoke to my insurance company and they let me know I am covered for weight loss surgery (insurance is paramount advantage). I pretty much have to do the same list of things i was given at the toledo promedica seminar. Such as see a dietian for three months which cost 50 dollars out of pocket, talk to a psyc, and have a doctor referral which I already have. I have my referral for mercy dr matthew instead of promedica because I am undecieded. I hope to find somone who has done this in Toledo that has advice. I dont want to have wait three months like with promedica nor pay 50 per visit. However, I dont know the terms of Mercy yet so any help is appreicated. In addition, I am looking for people who are going through this journey that I can relate with. I am up for discussion and looking forward to meeting new people.

I would just like to add I got one box from them they charged my insurance over 6000 haven't recieved anything else from insure nutrition big thumb down

Im having gastric sleeve.dec 2 i had my doc fax scripts to insure nutrition for Protein vitimins and scar.cream anyone went through them? were you approved?

i have paramount advantage (ohio medicaid) it took a week and a half to tell me i was approved and two weeks later got my package.

Anyone having gastric sleeve december 2014? My story I am 26 from Toledo ohio and I have chosen to have the gastric sleeve because I know it will change my life. I went to my first consult with mercy weight management in sept 2014 I was told paramount advantage(medicaid) would cover with 6 month diet. I had four month diet with my primary care provider so I only had to do 2 months with them. I was approved on 11/13/14 and that has been the best news of my life. I went for my EGD yesterday and I have a hernia. I go to my pre op appointment with my suregon matthrew fourman in a few days and I will ask him his plans for the hernia. In addition, I have my precsription processing through ensure nutrition for Proteins shakes, scar cream, and as and added bonsus I was told I would get free vititmins. Two days ago I bought a month supply of vitimins from vitimin shoppe for 39.00 they are bariatric so I will use them for now until I find out what I can get my insurance to pay for. I started this thread so us december sleevers could track our progess, modivate, and offer advice to one another. Good luck to all!

update: i had my sleeve four days ago and I was in alot of pain. Today i am feeling much better not hungry and still havent gotten in enough water or protein. I am doing much better and want you all to know it gets better later.

hang in there i was excited until the day i went in i was nervous and wanted to turn around because i was afraid my liver hadnt shrunk enough from my slip up but it all went great it will be worth every moment stay strong

Got my results from my testing and I have no leaks doc said it took an hour and a half to do my sleeve that everything looks great. Im finally drinking a little water its a little rough going down but i am taking my time. Long as i get my protein down in a couple hours I will be headed home. well everyone im offically sleeved i dont know my weight once i do ill update i was in alot of pain when i woke up they tried all kinds of meds but the Dilaudid worked best with some nausea meds taken by mouth only thing i had since 7 pm yesterday nothing to drink until tomorrow after leak test will keep u all posted

for anyone who has this same question I got a call today saying I am approved for scar cream and protein four cases and they will just give me the vitimins.I already got a month supply of vitimins and protein i got from vitimin shoppe so I am all good ill post how long it takes before i recieve them when i get them.

what a birthday present! I have a hernia too guess we sort of in the same boat.
