  1. PS: and I visit these boards daily because it is a great support network!
  2. How are you keeping track of what you are eating? I use myfitnesspal to make sure I stay on the right path. I also keep my FitBit on to make sure I am up and moving.

    Eating pizza after VSG

I eat pizza with very little issues. I can eat 1/2 a slice of plain cheese. I make sure I chew, chew, chew and I don't consume any liquids about an hour prior and post eating, otherwise stomaches ensue. If any one asks, and you are not comfortable with divulging your health status, simply tell them you are making the hard effort of watching what and how much you eat.
  5. I am going on month 5 post op. I can tell you that the year it took for me to start and get to surgery was a lot of work and it got frustrating at times. I even changed surgeons mid-way. At the end of the day, though, it was well worth the hard work. I went into surgery knowing what to expect and how to keep my mind right. Its a lifelong journey and I wouldn't change the experience for the world. Best of luck to you. Fight the good fight. Your health and happiness are worth it.

    Low energy post-op

I suffered from low energy also. Then, around month 3 I started to feel better. I attribute it to being to eat a bigger variety at that stage and my body getting used to the changes from the surgery. Also, remember that this is still a pretty significant surgery and your body is healing. In time you will feel better.

    Post-op drinking

I say stay away. Stick with water on the rocks. Your body needs all the hydration it can get.
  8. I eat chocolate. Organic, dark chocolate covered almonds. I find about 1/2 a serving is great....it equals about 6-7 pieces. Sugar and I no longer agree so I make sure it isn't a top ingredient. I also drink a lot of Swiss Miss diet cocoa! I mix in 1 tbsp of dutched cocoa powder, 2 tsp of Splenda, 1/2 cup of 1% Lactaid or Soymilk, 1/2 cup water and 1/4 tsp vanilla extract. It is chocolaty guilt-free goodness.
  9. I still eat pizza but only half a slice. Only real pizzeria pizza. Being from Jersey that's the only kind for me. I do eat cookies but only about 1 or 2 and that is maybe 2xs per month. I find that my sweet tooth is gone and sugar just doesn't agree with me, for which I'am very thankful. I know my problem was food addiction and sugar addiction and everyday I get healthier I am so grateful for the WLS. I feel so much stronger. Sugar and food doesn't run my life any longer. I am more powerful than the drug that ruled my life for so many years.

    African American Hair (and loss)

I am so jealous. LOL! ????
  11. My boobs deflated as did my legs. I've always had skinny legs so I am working on building those muscles. As for my rear-end, no amount of weight loss will make that deflate. I've got hips and a fanny for days. Kim K has nothing in me. Its okay though, I like my curves. I just wish my boobs didn't deflate. But at least I am healthier now and that's what matters the most.
  12. When you look at couture that you really like and don't feel discouraged thinking you can't fit into them.
  13. I used that same theory....Dt Pepsi to wash down the junk food. LOL So glad those days are behind me. Congrats on your success!

    Said no to pizza!

I turn down sweets. Once in a millennia I'll have a bite but that is it. I still eat pizza too. Mostly the cheese and a few bites of the thin part of the crust.
  15. LOL! That is so true!!! My stuff got pretty flat too with the exception of my butt & hips. A steamroller couldn't flatten those! LMBO
  16. Or when said toilet seat is COLD and you realize you no longer have enough "insulation" to fend off the chill. Lol
  17. Left photo, 1 week after VGS, 7/23/14. Right photo, this morning. Heaviest=265/6 5 days before surgery=244 CW=198 Goal=125 Scuze the messy hair and background. Was getting ready to exercise. LOL
  18. It will stretch......but not back to pre-surgery size, as was explained to me by my doc and a friend who is a forensic pathologist, lest you work very hard to sabotage and are willing to possibly damage your stomach big time. At any rate, what you put in your tummy is very important and sounds like you have it down! Congratulations! Isn't life a bit sweeter knowing you have control over this issue? Best of luck to all! Good health to all!

    African American Hair (and loss)

I just started experiencing hair loss.....mostly I shed. I am at month 4 and from what I've read on other threads, this is the month that the loss starts and around month 6 it stops. I am of mixed race and my hair is straight/wavy texture and tends to be dry. I stopped using daily heat a long time and had hoped that would prevent hair loss but it didn't. I use grape seed oil and Jane Carter and deep protein masks but it is still dry. I am assured that by month 6 or 7 the hair will return to its usual state and I'll stop shedding.
  22. Lol! Thank you. It used to be my husband complaining about being cold. Now its me. Everyone looks at me like I am crazy but I swear my teeth are rattling around because I am always shivering.
