    Can you relate???

Thank you sooooo much! I hadn't logged on since I wrote that, but when I did and read all that you wrote I ended up crying my eyes out for how kind all of you are and for those of that you that could relate - it felt like I wasn't alone anymore! I think I will try the therapy idea. My doc actually offers free support groups and I am going to that on Monday and then individual therapy if necessary. Please understand I definitely feel the difference 137lbs, but I think that sometimes I just try to ignore how I was and maybe I need to refocus on that so I can make the comparison. I don't want to feel this way anymore!!! Thanks for all of your support! It really helped!!! THANKS!
  4. I thought that when I reached my goal I would feel good - I mean really good. I went from a size 24 to a size 10 - from 311lbs to 179lbs - YET I still have days where I feel ugly and/or fat! I want it to go away! I just wanna feel good! Sometimes I see pics and can't believe it is me - other times I see them and genuinely think I look BIG! I don't know what to do about! Any ideas?? Will it ever get better?? Any things you tried that worked?? Please advice! Thank you so much!!!

    Still feeling fat...

Okay, so it has been one year since my surgery - it was 10/24/2008. I started off at a size 26 weighing in at 311 lbs. I lost 120 lbs and was down to 191 and a size 12. However, even with all that weight gone I still feel fat and constantly struggle with my image. I dont know how in the hell to stop stressing about it! I hate living like this! And now to make matters worse I have gained back 11 lbs and am again 202 lbs. Any ideas on gaining more self-esteem and a better self image would be greatly appreciated!!!! Thank you so much! How many calories a day?

1200 calories seems REALLY low to me!! I would say I take in 2000 per day and I have still lost over 3 lbs per week (81 lbs lost / 25 weeks post op = 3.24 lbs per week). My thought is this, if you exercise, eat nutritionally well, and are naturally eating a lot less calories than before, than you shouldn't really be too worried about calories consumed. Enjoy losing weight and all of the great things that come with it and don't stress too much about the calories!!! Best of luck to all!
  8. 1st one is early '07 @ 311 lbs - same weight as pre-surgery 2nd one is 4/08 @ 234 lbs
  9. I cut all of my Vitamins with a pill cutter. It takes a while, but is worth it. I take a LOT (Fish oil, mega antioxidant, garlic, chleated mineral, calcium, etc.) and I honestly have only gotten it stuck once when I tried to take too many too quickly. I just spread them out a little bit and if I feel any pressure stop for a while. Everyone is different, but I think you should try cutting them and taking them still because vitamins ARE SO IMPORTANT even for the non-banded. Best of luck to you!

    Why no water with meals?

I can't drink water when I eat! It always leads to me vomiting ("pbing")! I highly suggest that you wait til the food digests a little because the pressure/pain is horrible, plus, throwing up just sucks!
  11. I keep PBing and am hungry quite often...my first thought would be that my band needs to be loosened, BUT I think perhaps it needs to be tightened. Then the food would stay in place, not be able to get stuck as easily, and I would feel full a lot longer??? Am I totally wrong for thinking that may be the case??? Please help! Thanks so much, Jamie :help:
  12. I have 6.7 cc in the 14cc band and I am not losing ANYTHING! I go for my 3rd fill tomorrow. I pray that it will stop me from being hungry and being able to eat a lot more than other people say they can eat! I am so frustrated right now!!!

    Why liquids after fill?

My doctor hasn't said anything about liquids after a fill. I had my first on 11/20 and second on 11/27 and he never said anything either time. Should I be cautious? Could I be damaging something??
  14. My first fill was terrible! I almost fainted. I guess I have a needle phobia that I didn't know of?? I have no problem with shots. Maybe it's the stomach thing - IDK. I just know that my second one is today and I am a little nervous. I can eat too much right now. So I definitely can't wait for that good feeling back of not being hungry! That is the BEST!
