Thanks ???? how are the plus size options at target? I'm only 9 weeks post op, so I need plus sizes, but don't want to spend a lot.

I agree with everyone so far. My favorite workout is boxing, and it took me a few weeks to get back into it. Just listen to your surgeon, and to your body. Start slow, but you can get there.

Wow, that does make it sound easier! Good tip! -
Try microwaving them for about 10-15 seconds! So good!

St. Louis support-very very nervous
meps413 replied to breeze0404's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I hope you get the same super hot anesthesiologist I had! Or possibly, he just seemed super hot because he put a relaxer in my IV that made me feel kinda drunk. But really, every single person I came in contact with was amazingly nice. Keep us updated! -
I've always had terrible allergies, and the few times I've gotten a cold, they've been nasty. I was sleeved in august, and am currently fighting my second cold since then. Two colds in three months feels like a lot. Did anyone else find themselves more susceptible to colds after surgery?

Hmmm, I could probably be better about taking my vitamins.

We aren't talking a ball gown right? Then wear the dress you want! I believe you should dress to make yourself happy. If you feel good in your dress, then you will look good. Do you have a nicer jean jacket or something you could bring along, just in case? Then you'll have both jeans and dress.

St. Louis support-very very nervous

Yeahhhh, you'll be just fine. Just listen to your body. The only time I felt really icky was when I tried to do too much too soon. Definitely start walking as soon as you can, but don't be discouraged if you can't immediately do what you could before. This was a thing for me, because I'm impatient and wanted to be healed NOW, lol. -
St. Louis support-very very nervous

I took off about 3 weeks, but that's only because I had a food service job that required me to wake up at 3am, and be on my feet all day. (Plus, I had a lot of vacay time I needed to use, lol) If I had a desk job, I bet I could've been back after two weeks. I worked out fairly regularly before surgery, and I think that really helped. I got out of my hospital bed with no help at all just a few hours after the operation. For a day or so, I felt like I had done a bunch of sit-ups, but it wasn't unbearable. I took the painkillers on a schedule for the first week, then didn't need them again. I think it's important to take them before you feel you need them! I would say that I had no surgical complications -

One week before surgery...getting really nervous
meps413 replied to Lesile65's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I think it's totally normal to be nervous before any kind of surgery! The post op diet really isn't as bad as it sounds. Right now, the idea of only eating a half cup at at time sounds impossible, but trust me, with your new smaller stomach, you really won't want to eat much more. I would also advise that you tell your anesthesiologist you are feeling nervous. I did as soon as I met him in the holding area, and he said "okay, I can give you a margarita." I'm not sure what he put in my IV, but it felt like I had a nice drink! I was much more relaxed, but still totally awake and able to talk to people. -
I seem to be having the same stall! I'm trying very hard to just stick to the plan and keep my chin up. Let's get through this!
-
I started at about 5 weeks post op, because it was on my approved food list. I used the bagged shredded lettuce, with shaved deli turkey or chicken breast, chopped small. I never had a problem.
-
It was much easier than I expected. Basically my doctor answered his own questions and I agreed with him, lol. He'd say, "why do you want this surgery....for health reasons?" And I'd say "yes." Just be honest. I think they just want to make sure you know what you are getting into, and that you are not expecting one procedure to magically fix every single problem in your life. They'll ask a bit about if you have a support system in place. It's really not that scary. Good luck!

I was sleeved on 8/7, and stalled around week 3. It lasted about 2 weeks. Once things got going again though, I was back in full force. I've lost about 38lbs total, but during that stall, I gained a pound. It's so easy to get discouraged after basically a lifetime of weight loss attempts not working. You'll get through it. Just trust your plan, and keep your head up!

I haven't been to a game in years because I'm afraid of the turnstiles at the stadium. I'm new on my WL journey, and just under 290lbs. My parents called today, and they have free tix for tomorrow. My husband keeps saying it's going to be okay. I could use some reassurance. Help me please!

HOW MUCH HAVE YOU ALL LOST IN THE FIRST MONTH

I just broke through that famous stall! I'm about 5 weeks post-op and down around 33 lbs. -
Ooh! I want to go to a baseball game without having panic attacks about the turnstiles, or the seats!

Day 3 of liquids & Surgery tomorrow.
meps413 replied to Dotti's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Don't worry about not being able to sleep, you'll spend enough time sleeping tomorrow! My biggest concern the night before surgery was how I was supposed to provide a urine sample when I got to the hospital, after not bring able to drink for so long, lol. Just get whatever rest you can, and good luck!! -
Hi! I'm brand new to the forum. I was sleeved on aug. 7th, and overall I've been doing well. I'm down almost 30lbs. Here's my question: I know I'm not supposed to have any alcohol. But I'm going on a bachelorette tomorrow. How much would one drink hurt? I'm not driving anywhere, and will be having dinner first. I'm sure I'm better off not risking it, but it's going to be hard to be on a party bus full of free liquor!
