Lol I know the feeling. I made a cheesecake topped with homemade salted caramel and freshly toasted pecans for my family on Christmas. I kept telling myself it was early enough into my diet where it won't make a difference. However, I abstained for fear it would give me stomach trouble from being too rich. I nearly cried I wanted that cheesecake so bad, lol. My pre op diet is three weeks long. I just dropped tea altogether because my favs don't come decaffeinated. Let's try to stay on track. I know you can do it. Just tell yourself the end results will be worth it. That's what I keep telling myself so the carb cravings don't drive me insane.

I had the same problems when I started my pre op diet. I felt so crappy I almost called out sick for work and then when I got there almost left early. I woke up with a headache everyday for the first 3 days but it gradually subsided as my body started getting used to the low calories. I don't know exactly what you're eating but I do 4 Protein shakes, a palm sized piece of chicken and a cup of veg daily. I don't get hungry and sometimes have to force that 4th Protein shake because by the end of the night I feel a little nauseous and will have a nasty taste in my mouth. It will get better for you in a few days. I started my diet 12/22 so it's been 6 or so days and I feel pretty good. My energy is a roller coaster but it's much better than the first couple days.

Surgery in 3 weeks!
FaeChan replied to Blue_Disciple's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wish I was allowed to start my pre op diet on the 29th....Christmas dinner was looking pretty good today! I was originally scheduled for Jan 12th but I got a call two days ago saying my doctor wasn't "comfortable" with the date and they moved it to the 14th. They didn't specifically say why but I know my doctor travels to do surgeries and seminars so I'm hoping that's why. Started my pre op on the 22nd so for the next three weeks I'm stuck with protein shakes and a palm sized piece of lean with a cup of green. Fun! xD -

I totally agree about the artificial sweeteners. I'm not sleeved yet (1/14/15) but I don't even use them now because they bother my stomach and give me headaches. And most of what you hear about them is never good. I'm worried my first 2 weeks post op will be nothing but broth. What have you been eating as an alternative to the sugar free products?
