I had my surgery on July 16th - just passed 7 weeks post op. Would be interested in mentoring anyone who needs it. I wish I had found this forum before my surgery - it would have helped immensely! Glen

When are we allowed to re-introduce raw vegetables? I am 7 weeks post op and have very little stomach capacity. My post-op diet only covered the first 6 weeks. Not sure if there are things I still need to avoid, or if it would be ok to eat normally (just a lot less).

New to all of this....

My doctor told me stalling was completely normal. It feels weird to be taking in so little food and not losing near as much weight as my mind thinks it should! -

Definitely be patient. Your body is still adjusting to the changes. I have weeks where I stalled and weeks where the weight fell off in bundles. My advice - don't let the bathroom scale get you. I was weighing once a day - I now do once a week and I am much happier! -
IM SO WORRIED ABOUT MY HAIR FALLING OUT!

I had the same worry. I am 7 weeks post op and I haven't noticed any hair loss. I was told to keep my Protein up to curb the hair loss and it appears to have worked! -
One more can of tuna or chicken and I'm gonna puke! Need lunch ideas.

A lack of variety is on of the most difficult things about the post-op diet. I know how you feel. I have been doing egg salad and chicken salad. I have done some grilled cheese and some shrimp. I've also done a lot of Soups - clam chowder, chicken enchilada and some chicken noodle. And of course fish - salmon, mahi mahi, and catfish (grilled of course)! -
*I put 5 shakes/proteins. I meant to put Protein bars.

Two weeks prior to the surgery I did the pre-op diet - 5 shakes/proteins (3 of one, 2 of the other) during the day and then a sensible dinner consisting of 5 ozs of lean meat and 2 cups of vegetables. I lost 20 lbs on the pre-op diet. The goal is to shrink your liver to make access to your stomach a little easier. I used AdvantEdge and Muscle Milk Protein shakes and then Atkins or South Beach Protein Bars. The 2 week diet sounds intense, but it wasn't that hard. The worst part was finding different flavors to get a little variety. The 2 weeks of shakes and bars was very 'sweet' because everything comes in vanilla and chocolate flavors (found others if I looked hard enough).
