I started my 3 month approval process in May, with summer fun upon me. I get sleeved Tuesday!! I only lost 5 lbs during that time, for me losing 5 lbs over any summer is a huge win!! Just lost 15 on the pre op liquids. Don't sweat it. If you are ready mentally and really ,really want this you can do it!! If you watch and follow your doctors/ nutritionists directions, a few "special" days here and there along the way shouldn't make a difference. Good Luck on your journey????

Getting sleeved Tuesday, I'll be finding out soon and a bit nervous. Any suggestions?

1st few days were horrible... Lol headache, cranky, hungry. Once that passed I have been really good. I just think that I am soooo ready. I' been thinking about this seriously for 5 years, I went to this doctor 5 years ago and decided not to do the bypass because of my medical issues ( I have Ulcerative Colitis, ugh) now that the sleeve is a proven safe method I jumped back in. Started in May for my monthly visits and now I have 2 days left????. Aren't you just bursting with anticipation. I might actually be able to bend down and paint my toe nails by 2015!!!! Lol

if you having surgery, I don't think it matters when your date is????

I agree, I just don't want to hear anything negative, not that I would, I just don't know. So right now it's about us and taking care of ourselves. Afterwards... I'm open to whatever I am comfortable with. I don't feel the need to blast my business over the PA just at this time... Lol

it is good that you are trying. 1 of the important things I have Horton from therapy through out the years is- we can only change our behavior and our reactions to other people behavior... We can not change them. Only they can do that. You are changing in a positive direction. Keep it up???????? things will fall into place at some point.

My doc gave me my pre op and post op instructions months before- when I first started my 3 month preop certification process for insurance. Everyone has a different experience n different pre op preparations , I would call your doctor and check. Post op diet recommendations all seems to be more similar for everyone, Congrats and Good Luck!!!

Boy, you came to the right group to ask that question and get honest answers. Lol I'm married 28 yrs n it's been 1 heck of a roller coaster! I know my partner sometimes better than myself, so I choose not to tell him anything until I was approved and in my 2 week pre op liquid diet. Sad, yes, but necessary because when you live with passive aggressive or insecure partners, you have to be your own advocate. (you must read the thread, "I want to throat punch my husband" just substitute husband for partner n you will see it not so uncommon. ) I already know there r issues there. I agree with everyone, you need to do what is right for you when it is right for you. In the meantime, be strong in yourself and your decision to take care of yourself and let your partner know that up front. A week ago my husband was buying eggplant parm heroes for dinner for me while I'm on pre op liquid diet and not being supportive at all, questioning my decision and not agreeing with it...n last night he laid in bed with me and read through my entire folder and helped me put together a shopping list for my post op 4 weeks. Give her time to adjust and you just keep holding firm, she might just surprise you! If not, you have a wealth of support here with people that know u r doing the right thing ???? Good luck????
