  2. Happy 47th Birthday Kandorf!

  3. 4 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 4th Anniversary Kandorf!

  4. I too was banded october 25--a day later than you. My doctor told me he wouldn't do a fill before 8 weeks. However because of Christmas, I was given the choice of December 17 or waiting till January. You better believe I took the December 17 appointment. I have been doing okay during the day, but at dinner and beyond I've been having a terrible time. It is the same thing I struggled with prior to surgery. I went last week and talked to the nutritionist and she told me there is no restriction and that this is the time when you are basically trying to diet like before you had the band. I'm really looking forward to the first fill hoping it will help me stave off some of the hunger I'm feeling. Believe me--I feel for you as I am going through it too, but I have confidence in the long term goal and the wisdom of my doctor. He tells me the first 8 weeks are for healing and the weight will come off once I get some fills. Best of luck to you and know that there are others going through it too!
  5. My hubby takes effexor xr. The doctor told him to open the capsules but be sure to take the granuals all at the same time. He puts them in a little cup and then tosses them to back of his throat to swallow, followed by a drink of water. It works out well for him.

What are your plans for Thanksgiving?

Thanksgiving is the first day I get to eat real food. I've been thinking about it constantly. I've been on clear liquids for two weeks and then full liquids for two weeks. I'm so ready to have something to chew! We are getting together for my hubby's family on Thursday and his mom is all into making sure I have lots of soft foods to eat. It is going to be a very thankful Thanksgiving!1
  7. The staff all thought we were cute, too. At first we were in seperate rooms but as soon as they could they put us together. It is great to hear of so many couples who took the challenge on together. :nervous
  8. Thanks for your replies. I am so lucky to have both of us doing this together. We don't have any kids at home, so we don't have to worry about any meals or such except for ourselves. My hubby is doing wonderful and went back to work today. I'm still very sore and stayed home for one more day of rest. We are being very religious about following doctor's orders. My biggest thing is that the thought of food is making me nauseous. I really have to work hard to make sure I'm drinking enough water.
  9. We just returned home from the hospital and are feeling great! I'm so glad that he decided to do this with me. I just wondering about any advice anyone has for newbies. Thanks in advance
