@@Bronxmerci there is no room in your tummy for any food. It's chuck full of pills. No wonder we lose weight with WLS

OMG I thought I was the only person who had gone through that. My doctor said it was impossible after 4 bottles os sodium citrate. Basically he didn't believe that I had consumed that much. I had not been able to go for 14 days. Imagine. Later i found out it was the Percs. I was so mad the doctor didn't tell me. heck at least I could have been taking laxatives. I cannot believe how uncaring health care professionals are to constipation. It is a BIG DEAL

My pill taking routine is like an ordeal. I am glad I am not alone. Are you all taking sublingual B12 as well and Biotin?
-
Yes, you are supposed to have extra iron besides the multi because menstruating women need extra
-
@ Bronxmerci. I know your pain. A had a back injury and was on Percocet for a while. Got so constipated I had to go to emergency room. No one had told me the medicine like stalls your flow to a dead stop. It was one of the most painful experiences of my life. the worst was I still had horrible back pain but that the other issue on top.

-
I know but I have a Costco size bottle and I am totally okay with not taking them but my NUT insists. I am almost beging her to tae something else but she says -No they are fine to swallow.
-
I know my NUt says I am supposed to be able to take this giant pills including my regular multivitamin but I can't help but wonder how can I? My Centrum Vitamins are enormous.
-
Did you crush the pills or swallow whole Bronxmerci?
-
Are you supposed to crush those? I bought a pill crusher just in case I have to use it for some medicine at some point.
-
There are also some pillows that are designed like a donut for hemorrhoid surgery patients. Worth a try.
-
Sounds fun! At least they can' say you didn't practice your walking
-
Morgens, I am glad they are finally taking the Vitamin B serious. I sincerely hope it helps. Please help her take all the Vitamins and have a high Protein diet. Good Luck

@@OnePhatWhoDat By the way the Vicodin your doctor prescribed was it a liquid or a pill? What was the actual medicine he/she prescribed? Just curious.

not sure where to post this- husband absolutely does not support wls

Please tell your husband a BMI of 57.6 is a sure fire quick path to certain death. He doesn't have to take my word for it. He can ask your doctor. You are aboard the Titanic (I'm in the same boat by the way) and you are being asked to board one of the life boats floating in the stormy icy waters of the North Atlantic, which will you take? Sorry for being so blunt but a picture sometimes is worth a 1,000 words. -
1,000 replies to this topic - wow. We are not running a contest but impressive!

I everyone, I have not dropped of the face of the the earth. Just have been super busy volunteering at the Hospital Ladies Board yearly Rummage sale. It is a huge deal and 100,000s of dollars are raised. We expect 20,000 from my department alone. We have the designer goods and my on my I am exhausted every night. Today was ruff I had a Premier vanilla shake for lunch and it did not agree with me. Guess who had to use a port a potty 5 times. Fortunately only volunteers had used it and it was very clean but still, yuck. There's like 20 potties I had to play guess what's behind the door for a good one. I wish I could have gone home but I wouldn't have made it. Sorry for the TMI but has anyone had this issue with these shakes. I am now worried sick I picked up a stomach virus. What if I don't get better fast enough and my surgery is cancelled. Jeez, why is this happening? Last week I went to Cheesecake Factory (last meal befor 2 week diet) and had something that caused some of the worst heartburn I have had in years. Had to call the doctor who placed me pronto on Protonix ( a stronger Prilosec like med). Is there a black cloud over me? After tomorrow, I am only going out of the house for the absolute essential stuff. HIBERNATION

@@AuriP The warming up maybe a mild case of dumping. My understanding as the food enters the intestines it is rapidly absorbed. You body is "starving" and wants it now. That rapid absorption causes tiered, hot flashes and in some cases nausea and an unwell feeling (sometimes severe). Consider slowing down your eating. Are you taking 20 to 30 minutes to eat the whole thing? I know it's painfully slow. Or maybe something that didn't agree with your pouch.

Regarding the barium leak test post surgery. Not all doctors do it. Not sure why exactly. Some say they are checking for leaks, others that statistics show they have not detected/predicted a leak reliably. Some see it as due diligence others as the test is always negative and if you are going to get a leak it's likely later on at home. Following the food and drink protocol is the crucial thing. But then it doesn't account for human error and doctors are human. But several doctors say it's a waste of time.

In regards to narcotic pain killers. Some doctors prescribe such pain killers for the first week after surgery for your recovery at home. Because they are such powerful patients do not get the pain feedback from their pouch regarding being full. This combined with head hunger and poor eating control can be a recipe for disaster. This is how you get patient 5 days out of surgery calling the doctor "I was at the County Fair and I just ate a corn dog and felt something pop, now I am in a lot of pain, I am I going to die?" For your safety urge on the side of caution regarding painkillers. Your body needs to tell you how it feels, right? As always follow doctor's advice but this makes so much sense to me.
