@@layknee I think your scar is stretching and re-opening. Please consider butterfly band aid or an extra large bandaid that you apply by bending slightly in a way the tape pulls either side of the scar together. I did that to one that seemed to be spreading and it worked. It also helped keeping it together. Chance bandaid daily

@@amylynns Please have your doctor look at that incision. It looks like it may need attention.

@@amylynns I have a suggestion regarding your egg. This is what the RN told me (not the NUT) and it worked. I take 1 egg and mix it very well with about 1/8 cup of Lactaid, salt and pepper. I have a small nonstick pan with just enough oil to take a paper towel and rub it to coat the pan. On low heat, I stir my egg almost constantly as it cooks with a wooden spoon or small silicone spatula. I don't let it overcook. I place it on my plate and mush it some more with a fork and create ridges where the entire egg is divided into 25 tiny piles of egg. Each pile is the size of a human nail. I set my timer for 30 minutes. I place each one of those piles in my mouth when a minute is up. I wait for a 28 for the next bite, 27 for the next, and so forth. It helps that my timer has seconds so I know to chew almost 30 to 45 seconds before swallowing. This way I cannot eat too fast. I am not allowing myself to place a bite in my mouth before the minute is up. If at anytime I feel any fullness i try to burp or wait a couple minutes before trying the next bite. I do the 30 minutes because I have a couple two minute breaks built in should I need them but I am usually done in 25 minutes. Sometimes I cannot finish the last 3 or 4 bites. Then I set my timer again for 30 minutes and that's the signal to start drinking again. Hope it helps. The extra moisture in the egg and the very disciplined bite size and timing are key. I had some issue with egg before but not anymore after trying it this way

@@laceykp What date was your surgery? Mine was oct 28th.
-
i am completely baffled by this weight stall. I am only 3 weeks past surgery and 11 days with no weight loss. I calculated this morning what I am eating and it's about 300-350 cals per day and 20 gr of protein. How can you not lose weight with this kind of diet. SO STRANGE!
-
Hi, my surgery was oct 28th and have recovered very nicely. My only issues were constipation and I have had a weight loss stall for over a week now. The diet has not been a problem at all. I was very surprised about it. Dr fitzer is not with Bluepoint but he operates out of Fair Oaks Hospital and he did a great job.

What was your most recent NSV? (non-scale victory)

3 weeks past Gastric Bypass: -My blood pressure is normal and it has not been for almost a year. Goodbye blood pressure meds. -
@@DoraP I had decided to weigh myself every Friday but because of my bowel issues, I was trying to figure out if my lack of weight loss was due to that and was trying to figure it out. I agree, I need to pack my scale. I wish I could take it somewhere I couldn't get it. Safe deposit box for scale needed! Because I have not told anyone about my surgery, I can't really go and ask, can you keep my scale for me?

@@walkin'onsunshine. Really you too had a stall early on? What do you think changed? The start of your stall seems so similar to mine. If I have hope that by week 4 things will happen I can live with that. Did you do anything different around week 4 to cause a loss?
-
@@DoraP Me too. I feel like I am going to be on the books for the only person who doesn't lose weight after surgery. It is so distracting I can hardly focus on anything else. Having gone through all that we went through and now this. Everyone says , oh weight stalls are normal, this will pass. But hello this is a long stall and so early. I have not heard of anyone with a stall on week 2. It's devastating.
-
@@DoraP I too have been on a stall for 9 days now. I go up and down .01 or .02 everyday. Kind of skipping stones on a lake surface. I find it amazing that I have not lost any weight since day 13 after surgery. I went down one day halfway through the stall but it came right back up the next day. I hardly eat anything and I am following my dietary plan exactly. It's very disappointing.
-
@@walkin'onsunshine I have lost 29 lbs since I started this process and not a person has mentioned a thing about my weight. Only my 13 year old son said my face looks longer. I guess, I have been invisible for so long it takes a bit to reappear. LOL. Hope your first day back at work goes well. If your co-workers know about your surgery they may pay more attention and say something. In my case nobody knows so people don't focus. Besides because I keep seeing my friends the change is so gradual they can't see the difference. It was my choice to do this alone.

Up early !

If you both are going I will as well. If something comes up and you can't please let me know

My tummy is so loud. I think you could hear it from across the street. I am so happy because I thought I would have to go to the hospital

Hurray hurray, I am free. 12 days is a personal record. I went. Gosh I must advise anyone post surgery to be very mindful of constipation. It has been my worst complication and very painful. I will be taking Peri-Colace religiously everyday. As soon as I'm allowed I will take the insoluble fiber
-
The good news is by the time I go I'll lose 10 lbs , lol
-
Still no news. At this point I am afraid to go because I can't handle it.
-
@@amylynns I can hardly believe you have the exact opposite of my problem. I have not gone in 12 days. Doctor is involved. 4 packets of Miralax, 3 Peri-colace pills, 2 doses of Milk of magnesia, 2 bottles of Magnesium citrate and 1 fleet enema. NO LUCK. I am in more pain now then any day past surgery. Don't even ask how I managed to drink 2 bottles of citrate. They burn all the way down and make me so nauseous. I told my medical team I was worried about constipation before surgery and was told no worries, you don't go as often because you eat so little. It wasn't until day 5 that I started to worry. Now I'm in big trouble.
-
I had a 5 day stall and it was devastating but the scale is moving again but not as fast. I started eating and drinking a little more and that may have helped
-
Fantastic, I'll look forward to seeing you. I have short brown hair and I will look for you.
-
I am having some prune juice and tomorrow I have my 2 week appt. I will have someplace of Magnesia tonight. If nothing happens by the morning I will try the next level. Thank you everyone .

7 days with no bowel action. I had Miralax this morning and nothing happened. Tummy pain, what can I do next?

@@amylynns Just wondering what is your portion size? Are you making sure it is less then 1/2 cup. It may be better to do 4 meals a day that are smaller. I do 4 because our family dinner is at 8:00 PM and my Nut thinks I should have a snack. My plan is yogurt mid afternoon for life! At this point (Begining of week 3) I am only allowed 1/4 cup of food and that's to kind of form my new pouch and I'm sure keep my staples in place. I do notice I wake up every morning with a bad taste in my mouth and I make sure I drink at least 8oz of fluids before going to bed. I know there is no dinner left in my pouch by the time I go to sleep. The other thing I was thinking of is maybe taking the acid later in the day. You may have to talk about this with your doctor. I do't think you should have reflux with RNY
