91 pounds down 9 months post-op. The charts say I need to lose 30 to 40 more pounds. I would be happy in a single digit pant size! -

The pre op liquid diet helps you get mentally prepared for the post op liquid diet. I missed chewing something when I was on the pre op and post op liquid diet.

I had acid reflux so the sleeve wasn't my best option so I chose the Gastric bypass because of it but I also had 4 friends that had the GB and u have seen their years of success and all of them said it was the best decision they ever made and they wo I ld do it again. It is a life changing surgery and you have to go with what surgery is best for you.

journey 14 replied to ksdrn12's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
After Surgery when you in the hospital, get up and start walking as soon as you are able and as often as you can. Bring some chapstick, slippers. Best of luck! -
I am not sure how many calories Faithluvhope84?

Quest Bars have 20 grams of protein and 1 to 4 net carbs depending on flavor. I eat the for breakfast a lot but can only eat 1/2 at a time.
-
When I go to Starbucks, I order a decaffeinated sugar free hazelnut soy latte and carry a scoop of unflavored Isopure protein and mix it in. Liquid and protein.
-
Pre-op I used Bariatric Advantage and Post-op I found one I like Isopure whey protein isolate. It come in different flavors. I also use the Isopure unflavored protein to add to food/ drinks if I need extra protein.
-
I love the Quest Bars. Raspberry white chocolate or Strawberry Cheesecake are my favorite. I can only eat 1/2 bar at a time.

I bought the health wise protein variety soup packs. Sugar free jello for something sweet. It doest get old but you will get through it! -
I am almost 3 months post-op and it depends on the day and the texture of chicken. Chew chew chew and eat slowly. I forget sometimes and eat too fast and pay for it every time. I had a chicken sausage grilled last night that my husband grilled and it didn't agree with me at all. The other day, I had buffalo chicken topping off of a pizza and I had no problems. Trial and error I guess.

Any Fun Hospital Stories?
journey 14 replied to Jonathan Blue's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was walking my laps and the Nurse comes up to me and says your gown is open in the back! My robe had caught my gown and my butt was showing....I was so embarrassed! The Nurse said, it's nothing we haven't seen before and we both laughed! -
If you can't take ibuprofen for menstrual cramps and Tylenol doesn't work what else can we take? I am 2 months post-op of gastric bypass. Called Dr office but nurse never called back yet... I'm using heating pad but cramps seem more intense than usual.
