    How about some NSVs!?!?

    congrats on already seeing results!
  6. my sister was in the process of rny when she told me about it years ago. i was terrified...my only hospital stay was when my mom was pushing me out lol. but she decided not to do it, and i decided to do it. now, i hope that my success will motivate her like she previously motivated me, but i truly don't force it.

    How about some NSVs!?!?

nsv in real time! i'm on the crowded morning train, saw one open seat in a cluster of 4, so i had to step over 3 ppl and i fit in the seat like a boss...would have just stood months ago i'm feeling like a pro at this skinny girl stuff lmao!
  8. not directed to me, but good luck! follow your plan, and you should be successful. i wish i knew from the beginning that stalls are normal...you will have periods of losing then not, maybe even gaining a little. don't let that discourage you! check how your clothes feel, take pictures, hide the scale if it proves to be a burden and just weigh yourself once a week or so. i hop on the scale daily purely out of habit, but since i know my body's rhythm, it doesn't freak me out to see a stall.

    No Complications

i know this is from forever ago, but i'm so glad you mentioned your reason for the surgery...that's my reason, too, but i hadn't yet heard of that being someone's reason so i thought i was some freak of nature or something lol i also got rny, am currently 6 months out, -100lbs down, and had no complications

    Happily Not Looking Back

i just wanted to agree more with lorelu...don't let lack of scale movement discourage you, it's normal. i also take measurements primarily by noticing how my clothes fit
  11. hi! i am not from poland...i am a non-dutch speaking american living in holland, and these forums give me the most information, very thankful for them
  12. due on your surgery anniversary...gah!! don't make me cry! congratulations!

    3 months after surgery

agreed. i think tough love most certainly has its place, but it almost seemed like op's drs didn't even recommend a Vitamin regimen since the blood work levels were so low. good luck to you op! i love your proactive nature...you're going to succeed!
  14. after a rocky start this morning, little sleep, battling an annoyingly lingering cough, i decided to step on the scale for a pick-me-up...she did not disappoint. i am now 100 (!!!) pounds down from my oct 22nd starting weight of 284 and a mere 9 pounds away from being 100 pounds down from my june 9th surgery. 91 pounds in (almost) 6 months is frickin awesome!!

    Notice a change

lol @ narcissistic. for me, my brain's doing the opposite...I've just recently realized just how big i was from looking at pictures. i always said that in a different life I'd probably have been an athlete, and i was strong and active up til the last 5 years...i finally felt fat because i could no longer keep up with my former self.
  20. lol, people are simple sometimes. yesterday i was looking at a youtube channel about old commercials and found out about a diet supplement from the early 80s unfortunately named ayds...so even entire companies are simple sometimes!
  21. hey! how's it going? i hope surgery went well!
  22. a board full of hotties! thanks for the encouraging updates!
  23. I agree with this to a point. But, there were a couple of folks who very tactfully and kindly shared with me that they had surgery. I would never have known since I only met them after they had lost weight. Both of the instances (unrelated) was after we had developed more than a nodding acquaintance. It was clear they were being vulnerable and sharing private information with me because they cared. It wasn't in order to shame me -- that makes a HUGE difference. They set a great example on how to share my story in a compassionate way. If it weren't for them planting the seed in my brain that it was possible I wouldn't have eventually considered surgery. I am very grateful to them. my sister was actually the first to mention wls to me years ago when she was starting the process herself. she decided not to, and i hope my continued success might give her a positive view of it.
