Please take advantage of the first 6 months after surgery when weight loss is the most, it really does slow down after that. If your having problems in the first 6 months, take a step back, think about why you did this, what you want out of this, and make the changes you and only you have to make, to make it work. Yes, we can do this!! I've got 10 lbs to go to lose 100 total, definitely want to get there before my 1 year in Sept. -

I agree that this was the best decision I ever made, I'm down 90 lbs since 9/23. Was 300 now 210, have a cruise coming up Sept. 6th and would love to hit 100lbs lost by then. I haven't lost anything in the last couple months but I know why, it's me, I'm eating things I shouldn't, but I'm very happy and if i didn't lose another pound I'm still comfortable where I am now. -

I haven't been to see Dr.Kirk or the nurse practitioner in 2015. I had surgery Sept. 2014. Since my insurance started over, I pay out of pocket and I just don't see any reason to see him. I'll be glad to see my surgeon, but not Dr.Kirk. As far as doing something for yourself, I've bought new clothes, and booked a cruise in September and I'm going parasailing, something I couldn't do when I weighed 300 lbs. But you can make it something small like, nails done, hair coloring... but definitely celebrate the weight loss! -

Shonne17, I had to meet all copays and deductibles up front. They call you when surgery is scheduled to let you know the amount to be PD before surgery date. -

Haven't been on in a while due to working 70 plus hours a week but want to reassure you Cota, I'm 4 months out now, have lost 70 lbs, so much more energy now, wouldn't trade for anything. There are lots of foods that my tummy doesn't like for example noodles, but still plenty of things I can just not a lot of it. I still don't exercise but I don't regret my decision one bit -
Pure protein vanilla shakes are the only ones I like

Maybe a couple times, I thought, is this really what I need to do, plus spending 4800 is a lot of money I thought could be spent on family things and not something just for me only. Im not used to focusing on me, always others, but I decided it was my turn, I deserved to be healthy and happy. -

I was sleeved 9/23 ,I've had mashed.potatoes a couple of times, couple of bites, try to get in protein first, but still allow for couple bites of starch once a week maybe. I have found at 8 weeks out I can eat most anything but not a lot of any thing -

Why yes, yes he is cute lol. I have lost 42lbs .I started at 300 and was 258 today and I'm 8 weeks out and have done zero exercise, he told me not to beat myself up over it, but to start easing into it. Other than that I've really had no issues or problems with my surgery, it's been great watching the pounds disappear, so excited for you two starting your journey! -

Unfortunately there is a charge each time you see Dr. Kirk and you are supposed to see him 3 or 4 times after surgery. I saw him 2x before and none after yet, going to make an appointment with him today when I see Varnell. I had to pay the first 4800 up front before insurance kicked in 100%. So between all the Dr. Visits to everyone I spent most of that before I even had surgery. -

Yes, you just show up for the support groups, I think the one in owasso is the first Monday of each month, they will bring in post op patients and you will get the chance to ask them any questions you may have. -

Also if you tell them you smoke, even socially, you have to be 6 weeks free from a single cigarette and they WILL test your nicotine level.
