I recieved my bill from the insurance company for my lapband surgery and it such a bigggg number. UCI is charging Blue Cross PPO a total of 77k and next it say insurance adjustment to 74k and next it say insurance claim payment 2.8k and responsible to pay 250.00 So to me it saying that I only gotta pay 250.00$ and insurance in covering rest. but my insurance was setup with 80/20 option with 2000$ something for single (think max pay) and it seem like they paying 100% so... just little confused

Thanks for the information.

Before the surgery, I was expecting that average cost of surgery was 15k-20k w/ insurance and that I gotta pay a 80/20 ratio but now seeing that 77k... im hoping it not a 80/20 ratio....lol

I was around your weight couple weeks ago also now i'm at 260 which is hovering back and forth at 256-260. I know at times when you diet the body stops loosing weight but it will soon kick back in. Also in about 2 week, I will be getting my first fill so i know i can loose more then. I have 2 jobs and it keeps me really busy and the time to go excerise is limited and i know that I will have to increase the time soon also if I ever want to get to one of my mini goal. I also keep in mind that the band has not been fill yet and isnt working at 100% so alot of the this weight lost at first was from me. Just keep faith that you are changing and ignore everyone else.

antsmith101 replied to karri68's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Right under my large incision where my port is located was tender for couple weeks also but what made it worst was... I got sick and everytime I cough the port would push against my incision which wasnt a pleasent experience cause i was in tears sometime with the amount of pain. So now i'm not sick and my port area is little tender but i can manage. -

When will I be able to return to work post-op?
antsmith101 replied to betrthnever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This would probally rate like a tonsil removed then but little more pain... lol These wounds are so small and dont take long to heal, after couple days.. for me the port area only area that hurt and by holding area it felt alot better when it hurt. anyways good luck with surgery -
My Pre-op diet was only for a 1week and 2 days, I was approved and got surgery date so fast but everything went ok. After the surgery I have been loosing some weight. Alomost 25? guess that good but I want more =p Xmas vaction coming up so... i should have more time and force myself into gym and get body used to it. Good luck on surgery.

When will I be able to return to work post-op?
antsmith101 replied to betrthnever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my surgery on a Monday but went back to work Saturday (2nd job), I couldve went back to my main job around Thrusday. As long as your job isnt like lifting stuff and alot of moving then you should be fine. What helped was holding my port area at times when I felt uncomfortable... i shouldve wrap my stomach with bandage. -
I have 5, 3 small and 2 big. Most of mine are gone but for 1 located on the big cut. I had this little scar tissue hanging from bigger part and i pulled on it and didnt know a small piece of string was attached to it.... ouchhhyy so now the little tissue part is gone and i got a piece of string hanging from my stomach attached to the bigger scar =p I been rubbing my 5 opening with Aloe juice every night. Hopefully not to have bad scars.

Glad that you finally got approval... seem like a late xmas present ;p

I got banded couple weeks ago and it does get a little bit better... also dont expect to be loosing all this weight at the start cause you are banded. For most people the good portion of the weight lost dont happen till couple fills are done to find your sweet spot. Anyways Congrats... and good luck. -
