    Stage 4 frustration

@ I heard that about the gummy vitamins but baby food? Thanks for the tip. Trader Joes has these adult gummy vitamins that I used to take and my NUT made me stop, because even those were no good.

    Stage 4 frustration

@@cfiesta oh no that's no good @@motherof5 is correct you should definitely contact your doctor. This is NOT what you signed up for you should be able to keep food down. Don't think that vomiting is going to be your new way of life because it's not how it's supposed to be. Are you practicing mindful eating? Chewing slow, taking small bites? Listening to your tummy when it's starting to tell you, you're full? I haven't had vomiting happen to me but I did have a lot of foam come up the first time I ate baked chicken again being greedy. I went to the phantom gourmet food festival today and I had lobster rolls (without the roll of course), and oyster cerviche and my tummy loved it. I was excited because I got to eat veggies for the first time and all went well!

    Stage 4 frustration

I'm tempted to try baby food to get my veggies in personally, I'm just too embarrassed to buy it. I think I'm gonna borrow someone's child and then go buy it, lol

    Stage 4 frustration

@ @@motherof5 I will be trying BOTH of your suggestions! I really want to try to eat veggies, and I'm laying off of those Naked drinks ASAP! I was literally drinking them everyday for the past week and a half! That's what happens when you're lazy, back to home made Protein shakes for me! I'm gonna try some veggies tonight, I love starches and chips and red wine! I've been surprised at how much I haven't been craving them. Jodi you are so lucky that your taste haven't changed. I don't find any food appealing any more, and it's just making it more difficult to find protein and veggies that I enjoy eating. I used to enjoy food, now it's just sort of a catalyst to keep me alive. I guess that's how the skinny people have always seen food, more as a function and not a pleasure, LOL

    Stage 4 frustration

@@motherof5 I'm trying to be a loser, but I think I unknowingly self sabotaged my weight loss, LOL. Since returning to work, I've gotten lazy and I started buy those Naken Protein&Greens drink because they have 30g of Protein. I wasn't paying attention to the 28g of sugar part, and my weight has not moved in a week, I think it's due to those Naked drinks. I agree, I'm defiantly going back to my trusty scrambled eggs, and yogurt because I'm not ready for solids just yet. I had turkey yesterday - it took me three hours to eat it because every two bites I went on a burping frenzy at work no less, try explaining THAT to your co-workers, LOL! @ How are you doing with the veggies? I'm scared to try them, do you puree them or are you just making them really mushy? My NUT says I can make them really mushy and then eat them, but I'm still afraid.

    Stage 4 frustration

Yes! I feel as if I'm going into starvation mode. I'm trying to eat every two hours as well, it just doesn't feel like I'm getting enough food to satisfy my body, but at the same time, I can't eat more than three bites. Last night was a little bit better, I was able to eat a full cheese stick and a slice of turkey before I started burping, LOL. I really want some mashed sweet potatoes but the stringy stuff I'm scared will get stuck. Thanks for the response!

    Waiting from approval from ins(aetna)

Hello, I'm sorry for your situation, maybe you could postpone your surgery to give you more time to lose the weight. That way your doctor's office doesn't have to submit your current weight. I can't imagine how frustrated you must be right now, but there's got to be a way to give you more time to drop the weight. Hopefully the doctors office helps you come up with a plan to avoid the denial. Best of luck to you!

Having a Gastric Sleeve IS EXHAUSTING!

I'm two and a half weeks post op and I definitely agree, it's like a full time job! The crazy part is remembering to drink in the first place, I know it sounds silly but sometimes I forget. Best of lick to you

Post Op Questions - War of the Stomach!

I was in that same situation I tried mashed when I was about a week out and I paid for my curiosity. Your sleeve just may not be ready for mashed at that stage, I know mine wasn't. Give it another week, but yes that feeling does pass. Just go back to fluids and yogurt and try mashed again in another week or so. You're correct our tummies definitely are learning to accept food, not to mention those staples are still healing.

    Insurance question

Depending on how the program is set up, you should have a team made up of nutritionists, behavioral specialist, your surgeon, PA, etc... They will schedule all your appointments for you, so don't worry about that. Best of luck to you on your amazing journey!!

    Miserable

@@Loristi Three pieces I'm so jealous! I went to Boston Market today for some rotisserie chicken. I order the three piece assuming I'd at least finish a drumstick, and have the left overs for later. After four little baby bites of the drum stick I started burping and you know what that means, the sleeve has spoken. I was so devastated that I couldn't finish that drum stick, it was just getting good! @@HalloweenBaby24 I'm two and a half weeks out and when I first got sleeved I didn't get hungry as of four days ago my stomach has started growling every two hours like clock work. I'm on stage four, so three tiny bits later I'm completely stuffed. It's frustrating, because I feel as If I should be eating more. It's like my body is playing a cruel joke on me; hungrier than a bear every two hours, then stuffed like a turkey after three to four tiny bits. It's like we're learning all over again, once you're on more solid foods you'll start to feel full - hang in there!

had my gastric sleeve on September 10

Hi Yerrika, Congrats on your sleeve, I was sleeved on August 27th and I can tell you that I was in the same boat, I had the worse pain at my incision points. I dealt with really bad nausea as well, are you one anti- nausea meds? Those helped me from vomiting things back up. I was in tons of pain and it just eased up a week ago. I suggest that you keep walking around, I know it doesn't seem like it helps but it really does. Also, let your surgeon or the on call know that your pain meds won't stay down. It will definitely get better, best of luck to you

    Emotional swing

Hi all, I've been dealing with a lot of emotions lately that I wasn't quite prepared for. I spoke with my behavioral specialist about mood swings and she gave a general response, I.e "you'll feel full of life one day and tired the next...." I actually feel accomplished one day and like a loser the next day. Yesterday I felt great today not so much, to be truthfully honest I've had more low days than high days. I thought I was prepared for post surgery lows but this is ridiculous I had my surgery on the 27th of August and I just feel consumed by thoughts of "this isn't going to work for you..." I don't know why it's been circling my thoughts for two days straight. I know mentally that if I follow the plan I will lose the weight; however, emotionally, I feel like my sleeve is broken. I honestly never feel hungry, and when I eat or drink I never feel full. Plus, I've only lost 6lbs since surgery. I know I had the surgery and I know it's just a matter of focusing on proper maintenance and exercise, and the weight loss will come in due time,, but I didn't realize how much of an emotional wreck I' would be. If it wasn't for the positive post I'd be balled up in a corner crying. I just feel sad and I don't know how to overcome the emotional roller coaster. I was just encouraging myself the other day, and today I can't even think of an encouraging word to give myself. Has anyone else experienced this? If so what did you do to overcome it? My family has been super supportive, but they can't really relate to what I'm dealing with, so I thought I'd reach out. Sorry for the long post. Kandis

    Trouble with bowel movements

@@salem244 hi! I'm glad your surgery went well, yes I went almost 10 dats without a BM. I tried colace, miralax, you name it. The only thing that finally kicked in was milk of magnesia. Yes, the key is too stay hydrated, if you're not a big water drinker try a mix in like crystal light. I personally have been drinking lots of G2 Gatorade. Best of luck!

@@Tamlyn thanks so much, I agree usually I could relax with a bag of chips and a beer, but I can't do that now especially when I was bored. I also feel that I haven't been getting enough rest I wake up at 6:45 am everyday so I can start drinking my fluids and I don't finish until around midnight. Between that and trying to squeeze in Protein I'm pretty emotional and irritable. I'm still trying to figure out how I'm gonna do all this once I return back to work on the 22nd ugh...

@@blondebomb I take adderall XR because it's slow release so I only have to take one per day in the morning. I've been on adderall for seven years, I use to take the regular adderall but it kicked in too fast and I would become super aggressive, (not fun), so now I just do the Aderall XR and the venlafaxine XR. @@blondebomb you're absolutely right I need to look into a support group. I have a list, I just have to find a group that works for me. Are you using adderall XR? That's the one I use. It does help some, but we still need to remember our coupling mechanisms, and breathing exercises. Today I got out of the house for a few hours that helped, and I think I'm gonna start focusing more on making sure I have all my liquids and Protein in like you suggested. That way I can focus on the task at hand instead of worry about things that aren't even relevant. Thanks again for your suggestions! Kandis

Those are the things I'm planning to talk to my psychotherapist about. I'm not going to ruin this journey with a self defeating attitude. I just filled my Rx for miralax, $41 later! Anyway my PCP used to prescribe this to me when I was younger and it worked. I'm hoping it does the same this time around because the Docusate sodium, (colace), just isn't working.

    Fluids

Wow - thanks everyone for your input, I'm glad I'm not the only one having this problem. I will look into all of your suggestions and different options, I just don't want hidden sugar slowing me down, although I'm drinking fluids within the plan and diluting whenever I can, I just don't want to be a self saboteur.

    Fluids

Hello everyone, My name is Kandis, I was sleeved last week Wednesday. I have a question, does anyone else find it easier to sip G2 or Apple juice over Water? Whenever I drink water I get spasms up the wazoo, but when I drink gator aid (g2) or apple juice etc... It's smooth sailing. I have my first follow-up on the tenth so I'm gonna ask the PA, but I was wondering if anyone else's has experienced this as well. Thanks, Kandis
