Has anyone had their band empty before? I'm curious to know if you are still restricted. I had mine emptied so I could enjoy food on holidays and I'm still getting it stuck. I thought you were supposed to be back to normal without a fill. Thanks

Hi All I went to see the surgeon Monday for the first time...then booked for 23 September. Now I am starting to freak out about the thought of being on clear fluids and eating absolutely NO food for however long... I really need to know how everyone else got through this...I am starting to think I need some counselling beforehand... He did not explain to me whether I needed to fast before the operation but I have seen this on a few sites...I dont know how the hell I can do that either! I expect to receive my information pack tommorrow... Going with Dr Dolan in Perth WA Talk to me please xxxx

Thanks guys this is good to hear. How do you survive socially? Having dinner with your partner who's eating normal...going out for tea. Have you drunk alcohol? Any tips would be fab. I just rung my surgery who said I'll meet the nutritionist next week and they decide If I'm on optifast for 1 or two weeks

Hello I only saw the surgeon Monday and also booked for 23rd for banding. He didn't tell me anything about a pre op diet and I'm already thinking I cannot mentally handle the lack of food! I'm interested to hear others responses too.

Oh lord did you guys have to fast for ages before the surgery?! How?!
