Dont judge me I need some guidance
Bndtoslv replied to jackiemc1987's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
EVERY single person here will face this struggle. It is a lifelong battle. I agree with a lot of the above posts. I would plan for a few weeks to have every meal planned out. Always travel with a snack. I like to keep low fat cheese and a hardboiled egg in my bag - I know that sounds disgusting but it fills me up immediately and tastes pretty good. Look for something that is acceptable that is a "treat". I like sugar free fudgsicles. Most importantly don't be hard on yourself. Anyone who would judge you simply hasn't faced this yet but they WILL! -
Band Failed at putting weight back on
Bndtoslv replied to Kaishek's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Here is an alternate view. I had to remove my band due to complications also. It was removed in april and my sleeve was done in June. During that brief time I gained a huge amount of weight. i do believe that weight loss is slower and restriction is less as a revision patient. For example I could easily eat 1500 or more calories now at 3 months out. I do not know why that is but the sleeve is working for me because I am full very quickly but I don't have any problems eating anything. I don't know the answer to your question but please don't let yourself gain back too much weight. I also lost 100% of my excess weight and am now back to square 1 (although I am losing weight steadily). It just REALLY sucks to do this again! -

I love lulu lemon! That's such a nice story.

For people who track... Do you eat your exercise calories? My fitness pal claims I burned over 450 Cals with exercise today but I've stayed in my usual 700-800 zone. I have been more hungry than usual today though. Thoughts?

Banded in 2001. Questions about converting to Sleeve. Scared.
Bndtoslv replied to VDLT's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I understand all your fears except losing too much weight. That is extremely rare. You would be lucky at your bmi to lose 60lbs. -
I just went to look at the quest bars to have around for emergency protein but the look very high in carbs. Am I wrong? How do these work for people and what are the favorite flavors.

Child's portion card?
Bndtoslv replied to MrsKarenC2008's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got a wallet card with emergency information about my surgery, doctors contact and a request that I be sold a child's meal. I keep it in my wallet but laugh about the idea of ever ordering a disgusting child's meal in a restaurant! Mac and cheese? chicken nuggets? No way. -
Band to sleeve...gaining weight
Bndtoslv replied to calitexan's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I lost 100lbs with my band with 700 Cals a day and no stalls. I worked out 5-6 times per week. I lost the weight in 9 months. This time I've lost about 35lbs in about 2 1/2 months. I guess my body doesn't know about starvation. I lost 100lbs with my band with 700 Cals a day and no stalls. I worked out 5-6 times per week. I lost the weight in 9 months. Afraid of all of the holiday's coming!
Bndtoslv replied to Jovie62's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It's really hard with all the food everywhere. My one tip is never go anywhere hungry and eat protein first wherever possible. Also track your Cals even if you don't normally and even on a day you go WAY over. It's ok to have a day where you eat a lot but it's good to see how often that's happening! -
I love salad and I was told I could eat shredded lettuce and skinless tomatoes at 1 month. However nut didn't recommend because there is little protein. At about 2 months I ate a bit of tomato since they were in season after I ate my protein.

Band to sleeve...gaining weight
Bndtoslv replied to calitexan's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My nutritionist said it doesn't matter if your calories are too low. Starvation is a myth. It sounds like you are doing well with protein. Are you hungry? I find I only lose if I eat under 1000 per day even with exercise. -
Band to sleeve...gaining weight
Bndtoslv replied to calitexan's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I usually can eat half a sandwich. Or couple of eggs and a piece of toast. I can't eat a lot but I can drink a lot. It's probably the carbs. I rarely eat sandwiches or toast. If I do it's one slice of low carb bread. No potatoes or rice. Sometimes a whole grain cracker. -

I don't eat walking around Cals either! I usually walk 10,000 miles per day! -
I'm really hoping to be there by New Years!

Any Band to Sleeve Success Stories Out There?!?
Bndtoslv replied to lisaluvsgreys's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi All, as promised I'll update you! I am 11 or 12 weeks out now. I'll be there months out on September 30th. Down somewhere between 33-34lbs. I had a nasty stall around 3-6 weeks and have been losing around 2 lbs a week since then. I'm averaging about 10 per month since then. I haven't really been exercising enough because of travel. I am back into spinning as of tonight I think my capacity is about 5-6 ozs I usually eat about 3-4 ozs of protein followed by a veg. I keep my carbs low. I'm pretty happy. My guess is that some people feel like sleeve is less effective because full feels different. With band I would vomit. Now I'm just satisfied. I'll keep updating if you all want. -
Portion Control vs Low Carb... Ready, go!
Bndtoslv replied to bellabloom's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
As someone who gained the weight back after my band I vote for healthy eating whole foods low but not very low carb. I would focus on whole healthy foods and avoid carbs. Avoid binge eating and trigger foods whatever they might be. At a certain point maintaining gets harder for everyone but if you learn to eat and cook healthy foods you love I think you will maintain better. My mistake with the band was that I lost weight effortlessly in a year but never really reformed my eating habits. I just couldn't eat. Once band problems started I gained weight rapidly because I wasn't eating healthy foods. -
I dated a lot with my lap band and it was very tight and I could barely eat. I agonized about it. I was very thin. I am married now but honestly people are so nervous on dates they barely notice if you eat. Just order something small and don't make a big deal about it. I really doubt they would look at you like you are crazy. Even when I was heavier years ago I rarely ate on a first or second date because I was talking and nervous.

Hi there! Starting weight 226. Goal is 214! Thanks!

Star Jones weight gain (80 lbs)
Bndtoslv replied to hopefullythininme's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had the band. Was down to a normal bmi and totally regained after complications. I think it is worse than having never lost the weight! On my way down again though after sleeve but I'll never forget how horrible the regain was! -
Less than 5g Sugar and Less than 5g Fat
Bndtoslv replied to VanessaVSGforme's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You mean per food item? I never had such a direction. I was told to limit high sugar and high fat food to maximize weight loss. Dumping isn't common with vsg that's more usually found in RNy.
