Congrats to everyone. I am waiting on my approval now, and I'd be lying if I said I haven't been having second thoughts, but your stories have inspired me to keep going.

Paperwork has been submitted. I was told 5 business days and I should hear if I'm approved.

Congrats to all who've been approved. I go to my last appointments today and then starts my wait for approval. Im starting to have second thoughts about it. Did anyone have second thoughts? I think it's just fear of the unknown or failure. ????

I called my insurance a few times with questions. Hopefully that helps when they put through my approval next week.

I go to my last visit 10/9, I'm in the same boat. If I don't get it done before 1/1, chances are I won't be able to get it done at all. I can't afford to pay my deductible again.

I have my last NUT/dr appt on 10/9. Once I do that then the insurance wait begins. It can take a month to get the approval and then u have a preop diet. So, depending on all that, hopefully mid November or December.

I'm going to Dr. Hamilton Le. I like him a lot. I started with Dr. Broussard but switched after I found out the info they told me about them being covered by my insurance was not correct. That's a costly mistake. Be sure to check your insurance and not take the dr.'s word for it. Also, I had to start all my requirements over so that was irritating. I have Aetna, they referred me to Dr. Le and integris is a center of excellence.

I went to a local support group and the people said they were back at their desk jobs after a few days. Would you say that's right?

Honestly, I started this journey wanting the band. I attended multiple seminars and support groups before I stepped foot in the surgeon's office. After hearing all the complications from the band, I decided it was too risky for me. There were 2-3 people in each group who had erosions, slippage, etc. they were back trying to now get the sleeve. So I decided the sleeve had less complaints and better results. I also liked that I wouldn't have to spend so much time at the dr office each year making adjustments.

Hi, I started my journey 5/2014. My insurance requires I do 3 months of diet, psych, etc. I had to start again in July because the prior surgeon said he was covered under my insurance and turned out he is not. Anyhow, one more visit 10/9/14 and then I start my approval wait. I really want the sleeve surgery but I am starting to feel selfish about spending the money on it especially since I had to start over and pay all the dr and diet fees again. My husband says no worries but...did anyone else have second thoughts (even if not because of the $$)?
