    January Sleevers ❄️

I've lost 40 lbs total since start of pre op. 15 on the pre-op diet then another 25 since surgery on 1/7. I have trouble getting in all my protein & fluids. Its not a physical thing, I've done amazingly well since surgery. I do have a pretty tiny sleeve as evidenced by how little actual food I can eat, my problem is I'm literally too busy to stay on top of it all throughout the day. I'm in my final semester of RN school & I work too so I find myself staying so busy I forget to sip my fluids. Also I have no time for exercise, not even walking. I get up, get kids to school, go to class, go to work, fix dinner, bathe youngest & help her with her homework, put her to bed then do my own homework til midnight or later then get up at 6 & start all over again. I know these are the reasons for the stalls I've had but its unavoidable for now. Hopefully I'll get the hang of it soon. I have no regrets though. Still the best thing I've ever done for myself.

    Stall?

Our starting stats are almost identical. I was sleeved 1/7/15. My SW was 263, day of surgery was 248, CW is 225. That 225 just happened this morning after being stalled out at 227 for about 4 days. The stalls are aggravating but I've read a lot of people on here say they happen to just about everyone. Hang in there, at least we're on the losers bench!

Yes, we flew into San Diego the day before my surgery (1/6/15) & flew home the Saturday after my surgery (1/10/15). We had one connecting flight both ways which ended up helping...that gave me a reason to get up & walk about half way home. I felt fine coming home, obviously a little sore & tired but totally manageable.

1 week post op & I'm down 23 lbs since beginning the pre-op diet & down 8 lbs since surgery!! HW 263 SW 248 CW 240 that's my first "stats" post lol. I'm doing pretty well. I'm not getting my full 64 oz of fluid in but I get so close. I don't think I'm getting all of my protein in either but during this 1st week my Dr wanted me to focus more on fluids so starting tomorrow I'm going to really focus on trying to get as much of both as I can. Today was an odd day for "eating" for me. Things would sound good until I tried them then I didn't want them. I'm still on shakes & soups mostly but have tried some pureed things & so far there's no physical problems with them, I just really don't want to eat I think. I'm in very little pain, more like soreness & discomfort lol. Its all very tolerable though. I just took some adult liquid Tylenol & mainly took it so that I will sleep good tonight. I'm also having a cup of sleepy time herbal tea so hopefully I'll relax good tonight.

  7. Absolutely. @@slvrsax is right, don't let price be your decision maker. The reason I chose Dr Verboonen was that I live in a very small town in a rural county in Oklahoma & at last count I believe there were around 80 people from here that had been to him & I had not heard one complaint. All I heard were good reviews & some were far enough out from surgery that I could see good results & no complications. I did research some other drs but in the end he's who I felt the most comfortable & confident in my decision.
  8. Dr. Sergio Verboonen in Tijuana on 1/7/15. I went through Sheri Burke with international patient facilitators. Cost was $4500 total for 2 nights in the obesity goodbye center & 1 night in the grand hotel. I had a great experience & my husband, who was very worried & skeptical about the whole thing, was equally impressed. He even told some of our friends he would do it again. The facility is very clean, all of the staff was very attentive but I breezed through with no problems & very little pain. I can't say enough good about them.

    January 7th!

I'm sleeved!!! Surgery went well & I'm recovering well too. Just can't stay awake lol. The surgery center is small, & not really what my husband and I are used to or expecting, bit it is very clean & the staff is taking good care of me & that's what matters.

Ew, I know what you mean @downsizingdiva. I tried some Mexican chicken tortilla...it smelled good but it sure didn't taste good. :-(
