I told my husband of course, my mother in law, my boss and a handful of friends. That was it. When people ask me how I have lost so much in just a few months I always laugh and say "oh, ya know, just cut some things out." Lol which more true than they realize. I also share with them my clean eating habits and exercise. Which is also the truth.

Yes three days. Crazy to think. The way I seen it was this way, "I spent the last two years abusing my body with food, the lack of exercise etc. I was so pay so there was no way I was sitting back and continuing the same pattern. Told my husband the day after surgery I was getting moving. And I did just that. I was outpatient. Had surgery at 7 am and released that evening at 5 pm. The next day I walked almost a mile to help relieve the gas pressure. Next day did the same. And have continued since.

I am in the dfw area. Had my surgery September 25, 2014. Went back to work 3 days later and haven't looked back. Best decision of my life and will be for you as well. Good luck to you.

What's your "weight loss pet peeve?"
kimmyco replied to Elode's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
She lost about 75 pounds. But then gained about 15 back over the two years. I have lost 77 so far. Sadly she is the type that likes to be the center of attention. The comments she is making to our other friends about me are things like "I get tired of people always telling her how good she looks". And "it gets old how people turn the conversation to her weight loss journey all the time". But sadly when she began her journey we all did the same thing to her. We were so very proud. -
What's your "weight loss pet peeve?"
kimmyco replied to Elode's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Two come to mind. First, I am sick to death of people telling me i have gotten too skinny. My whole life I was always max 125 pounds until two years ago after having lung surgery and gaining almost 100 pounds because of the necessary steroids for survival. I'm just now at 145. Still have at least 10 more pounds to go. And second, my "best friend" had the lap band done this month two years ago. I got my sleeve in September of last year. I haven't seen her since April and haven't heard from her since May. But hear the comments she makes behind my back about me having surgery. Makes me sad. -
Days off work after sleeve surgery
kimmyco replied to shirleyjohn001's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Exactly. You will be tired. But that's to be expected. Pain though, minimal and totally manageable. Only pain I had was my incision where the stomach was removed. And even that pain was not horrible. Just uncomfortable. -
Days off work after sleeve surgery
kimmyco replied to shirleyjohn001's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had surgery on a Thursday morning and came home that afternoon. I took Friday off. Went back to work on Sunday, which I normally don't work, just to catch up. Was back to work as normal on Monday and was just fine. -
For those who have lost a lot quickly. ...
kimmyco replied to mataz78's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have been a slower loser lately. First few months went quickly. I am just now 10 months out and have lost 76 pounds. Went from 222 in September to 146. Haven't weighed in a couple of weeks. My first goal was 150. New goal is 135. Will make it before a year for sure. Hang in there. The weight does come off. You will be surprised how fast you have nothing to wear at all. -
My hair began to shed at 4 months as well. My surgeon advised me to take 10.000 mcg biotin tablets, as well as, folic acid. And it helped tremendously. My hair dresser was impressed how much it did help and how quickly it helped. Good luck.

Great post! Now here is mine. Mine isn't much of a personal one, but more on the lines of health. In May of 2013 I had to have lung surgery where they were forced to removed half of my right lung. Because of my weight, 222, things had to be done differently than that of someone healthy. I was required to give the hospital a copy of my living will and will, or surgery would not be performed. I had to be put on the bypass machine during surgery because of my weight and the complications that could cause. While in Icu for days, my doctor continued to remind my husband and I that it would be a longer road to recovery for me because of my weight. Embarrassing to keep having to hear it. But he had to say it. He was right. It took me one full year to recover. May 2014, one year after surgery, I decided it's time to do something. Had my sleeve done the end of September 2014 and I am now down 75 pounds. With only 7 more to go until goal. I am healthier now than I have been in so many years.

Newbie just wanted to say Thank You all and Hi
kimmyco replied to coopervane's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You can do this. Stay strong. I struggled with the decision as well. Now, best decision I have ever made for myself. My husband was my biggest supporter and that helps tremendously. I am a few pounds from goal now. My surgery was September 25, 2014. And I would do it all over again. Eek minus the self pay part of it. That stunk. -

Shats are Sw 222 Cw 146 Goal 140 I allow myself to eat what I want. Small portions of course. Very small portions. But I make sure to get 80 ounces of Water a day and at least 60 of Protein. I put in a full gym in my house, actually hubby did. And I utilize it at least 3 days a week. I don't put pressure on myself. Don't want to feel the pressures. Only thing I have not done is sweets. At all. Period. Cut them out 100%. Miss them. But don't do them. -

I have hesitated sharing before and after pictures on numerous occasions. But here goes. The first picture was a couple of days before surgery. The second picture was about a month ago and I have lost 10 pounds since then. The last picture is me being brave for the camera putting it all out there two weeks ago. Eek! -

Awesome story. Thank you for sharing. Keep up the amazing work that you are doing. -
So, my surgery was September 25, 2014. I have slowed way down on my weight loss, but I am still following the plan and exercising. I have always been the type to run from a camera. This past Sunday I decided to take a picture of my own to see what all the fuss has been about by my appearance. And for the FIRST time in quite a long while I was not embarrassed by what I seen. My starting weight was 222, I am 5'4 1/2. Yep. Throwing in that half. Sunday when I took that picture I weighed in at 157. I still have 17 more to go until goal. But couldn't be happier with my life at the moment.

Putting it all out there. My first bikini picture. Yikes.

Thank you everyone. I have lost another 9 pounds since this picture. I am 8 pounds away from goal. Yah!!! When I hit goal that will be a total amount of weight lost of 82 pounds.
-
Thank you all! This has definitely been a journey of a lifetime.

I meant to add my starting picture taken the day before surgery by doctor.

Alcohol - effects and wait time
kimmyco replied to twinhappy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I waited about 3 months. I only have a couple of drinks when I do drink. I have found that vodka and water and a splash of cranberry works for me. If I drink I absolutely do not try and eat too. I eat about an hour ahead of time.
