Well.......actually one year and a month out from surgery. I still can't believe the person I see today. Took this picture about 10 minutes ago. To think, this time last year I weighed 222 pounds. Today I stepped on scale for first time in a month. I weighed 138 today. This has been so much work but I love it. Eight pounds away from my last goal.

I started out working out 5 days a week. Now I only work out 4 days a week. Decided to go back to school for my PH.D. So time gets in the way. ????

Thank you so much. ????

I opted for the sleeve. Best decision ever.

Aww that's awesome. You are doing fantastic. I was a slow loser. But was steady. Still have 8 more pounds to go and then I'm done. You can do this. We are all a work In progress.

Any Experiences with Not Obeying Doctors Orders?
kimmyco replied to kelseysleevedup's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was self pay. My surgery cost me 12k out of pocket completely. I said in the beginning, I will not cheat once. That was a lie because I have. Not big cheats. But cheats nonetheless. My sleeve allows me only a small slip up. I have allowed myself a small piece of pizza a few times. I have eaten potato chips on many occasions throughout. I don't always get all of my fluids in. My problem with that is if I drink to fast I get really nauseous for a few minutes. I have stuck to my plan probably 95%. But I have allowed myself to indulge on a very small scale. -
I did a side by side last night of the day before surgery. Yikes! And picture taken last night.

It depends on so much. I started at 222 pounds. I began exercising, put a full gym in my home, as soon as I got the green light from my doctor. I toned as I lost. Luckily I had no loose skin. I'm not sure if that was the key or just simply helpful.

Thank you so much. Bought them two years ago and couldn't zip them. Today I put them on and boom, they fit.

Lol thank you. Loving the plaid shirt for sure.

Awe. Thank y'all. This last year has been so fun but so hard too. Wouldn't trade it for anything. Love hitting all of my new goals. It's so exciting. And the new wardrobe is fun too.

Awe you can do it. I have slipped many times. And I get right back up and push on.
-
Lol your funny. Thanks for the laughs.

My life has changed drastically. Now that I am 11 months out I feel amazing. I have lost 78 pounds. 9 pounds until goal of 135. I am more social than I have ever been. I think that was the key for me. Get my butt out there and mingle and meet new friends. Before surgery I was a social person to an extent. But I never felt comfortable in clothing to go out with others that were half my size.

What to expect in the hospital
kimmyco replied to readyforthislifechange's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My surgery was at 6:30 am and I was discharged at 5 pm same day. I brought Chapstick with me. Believe me you will need it. I brought a pillow for the ride home. And I wore comfy clothes to the hospital. My hospital supplied toothpaste and toothbrush. And believe me you will need that too after the swallow test. Yuk! Not a bad experience at all but it is nerve wracking not knowing what to expect. You will be thrilled by hie decision a few days after surgery. Just remember to walk, walk, walk to get rid of any gas that you may experience. They had me up walking as soon as I came out of recovery. -
Good luck tomorrow. I am 11 months out and it was the best decision I have ever made.

Good luck. Best decision of my life. I was self pay so I had my surgery within two weeks of my first appointment. September 25th will be one year for me and I couldn't be happier. I didn't start with a high bmi, technically, but I am down 77 pounds. Year appointment next month goal is to be to my goal weight which is just 10 more pounds. Will be 135 then. Enjoy the amazing tool you are about to receive. It is definitely a life changer.

Back to the original thread, eek trying to divert attention, I ONLY drink vodka with water and a splash of diet cranberry lemonade. I would love to drink a beer. I have tried and simply can't. Well i could if I wanted to make a mad dash to the pot every time. I waited until my 6 month mark before I chose to drink. But that was just my decision. Not my doctors. Like the others stated earlier, the alcohol definitely hits you faster than before. Boy do I know this first hand. Birthday was last Tuesday. Ended up drinking 3 drinks. Thank goodness I have lost 77 pounds. Because helping me walk a straight line would have been way more difficult. Just trust your judgment when you drink.

Finally Onederland!
kimmyco replied to momfromjersey22's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Oh I remember that day. What an amazing feel it is. Congrats to you. Now the goal to keep pushing forward. The closer I get to goal the harder it is. Nine more pounds to go though. Hopefully you breeze straight to your goal.
