Hi. My name is Chris and I'm 30 years old. I was overweight all my life and always battled with my weight. I found BariatricPal on google.

I had the lap band surgery about 4 years ago and was unsuccessful due to not being committed and having problems with the band. It gave me sever acid reflux which made it impossible to eat the right kinds of foods. After showing esophagus damage, my doctor recommended to remove the band and get the gastric sleeve surgery. WIth the lapband, I had lost about 30 lbs and gained all my weight back and more. I was at my highest weight and wanted to do something that would make me successful in finally losing weight for good!

I was finally sleeved 7/28/14! But, before that, I knew that I had to change a lot of my eating habits and lose weight on my own before I decided to go ahead with the surgery. I joined the gym, and changed my eating habits. I lost about 60 lbs on my own before having surgery and that helped so much! It made the whole process a lot easier for me, both physically and mentally.

Right now, I'm looking for support from the community to help me continue my success in losing weight.
