I am NOT the Energizer Bunny!

I had same problem and it was my iron. Get a blood test to find out. They can also recommend some medication for the constipation.

    What do husbands think

My husband has been very supportive. We joined the gym together, we work out together, he's real good about what foods i can and can't eat. He of course was worried that i might die on the operating table, that i would some how "change" but so far the surgery has brought us closer i think.

Not band related, Maybe XXX, maybe some arguing...

i have no clue whats going on, but i have to say i love the threads that are "off topic" i get sooooooo tired of reading the same old same old as far as questions about the band goes. So as far as i'm concerned bring on some fun topics if its really that much of a problem, maybe we can set up a new forum for adult content then no one can "accidently" read a thread that offends their morals or whatever. I believe OH has a forum for discussing sex, so perhaps we should follow their lead and create one too.

    Dipping Cigarettes in Vinegar

I think the head hunger is the worse part of the band. You WANT to eat, but you physically just cant. There are many times when i just have to get up and walk away from the food and occupy myself with other things.

    Working with the band ...

well i have to say I dont DEPRIVE myself of anything *shoving a piece of v-day chocolate in my mouth* if i want or crave something i eat it (except stuff that doesn't agree with my band). The difference is the amount i can eat. I can eat 1 or 2 cookies not 6-8 cookies. I can eat a 4 piece chicken nugget meal, not a 10 piece with fries. And its WORKING, i'm loosing weight. When you are properly filled you can have these things in smaller portions.

    Divorce

I would really recommend the book "the divorce remedy) It saved my marriage. Even though its about saving marriages, there is alot of good info about making the break easier.

    Erosion, The Real Facts

paul, i agree with what you have said. Like i said in my previous post, like almost everyone on this board, i have alot of hopes and dreams invested in my band, so i can see grieving for it. Now me PERSONALLY i would never grieve losing my band like i would losing my daughter or husband. But again there is no comparing because each person brings thier own life experiences into the situation. For me, a friend of mine has lost her 2 year old daughter, i watched her morn and anguish, and its nothing i could ever imagine going through myself and i know i wouldn't feel that way about loosing my band. Another example is when i had my hamster put to sleep, i took a day off work because i was so upset. Another person may need a week and another may not need any time off. That is the joy of being human, we have the freedom to react and express ourselfs as needed.

    Erosion, The Real Facts

just a few thoughts. 1. While i appreciate Dr.Ortz taking the time to talk about the erosions, what i would like to know what his thoughts are about the number of erosions in a two month spand. Are you contacting other people who were banded during this time and requesting endo's to make sure that indeed this is just some weird unexplainable fluke and there aren't other patients walking around eroded? I am rather disappointed at both the dr. and Inamed for just kinda shrugging it off, and not being more proactive about making sure there aren't more eroded patients who are showing no symptoms and don't know to get a regular endoscopy. what i want to hear is " we are as concerned about this as you, and we are doing everything possible to figure this out" not "gee erosions just happen, we don't know why several people banded months of each other are eroded.........next patient please" 2. to down plays ones "grief" in uncalled for by any person. No nobody died, and no loosing the band should not be compared to loosing a loved one. But think about loosing something material that meant alot to you, such as a wedding ring or family photos, an old family heirloom. yes they are just things, but there is a sentimental value to them and i know i would be devestated if i ever lost my wedding ring or my daughters photos. Would i get over it? yes with time, material things are not the be all end all, but there is something that we value more. I know i would be devestated if i lost my band, i have alot of hopes and dreams invested in this band, and having it yanked away, would take me some time to "get over it" and plan for the road ahead. 3. There are people from all sorts of stages of banding in this community, from those who are investigating getting the band, those waiting for insurance approval, new bandsters who are adjusting to their new lives, veteran bandsters giving advice, and yes even those eroded. It provides a well rounded and ACCURATE AND REALISTIC picture of the banding community. I think all are welcome no matter where they are in their journey.

    Amazed By The Difference!

you shouldn't be on just liquids, you need to be eating 3 meals a day. If Dr. Martin knew you were just doing liquids she would not be happy. Don't make me tell on you, EAT REAL FOOD!:biggrin1:

    Exercise?!....sure?!?...

i started out real slow, like one day a week. But i told myself as soon as i got to 200lbs i would exercise more seriously which i have. I go to the gym 4-5 times a week, i do 45-60 min of cardio plus weight lifting and see a personal trainer once a week. I never thought i would say it, but i really find myself enjoying working out. :Banane23:

    How has it changed you?

For me, I value myself now. I can now say "hey i'm worth it" I really hesitated about spending money on a luxury like a personal trainer, but i decided you know what I AM worth that $45 dollars a week, heck before being banded i would easily spend that money on fast food and junk, so now i'm doing something healthy with my money. Before i would never buy myself cute clothes, now i say I'M WORTH IT! I stick up for myself more, i say whats on my mind, i smile and look complete strangers in the eyes, confidence and loving your self.....its a wonderful thing.

    Just need to vent...

we all have done days. After i got my fill, i can't even count the number of times i PB'ed and vomited till my brain finally got on board. Luckily i have a really supportive husband, so when my stomach is full but my brain is NOT getting the picture, i very calmly and seriously tell my husband to take my plate away, and he will. then he will sit me down and rub my shoulders or something to distract me until the "full" messages finally make it to my brain.
