    Enough Calories??

I think that's the idea. You'll lose a lot to start. Your body will burn fat to make up the difference. Eventually when you can eat solid foods you'll be where you're supposed to on regards to calories. Be prepared to be REALLY tired for a few months. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  2. I'm 3 years out and I still get bad gas from time to time. I'd say the worst and most frequent happened maybe in the first 6 months to a year. As I'm writing this I have pretty bad gas. Since my wife and I both had gastric bypass, we make sure to have plenty of gas-x on hand. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

    Pain after RNY surgery

Was yours laparoscopic? Mine was and the only pain I had was in my back from the massive hiatal hernia he had to repair before he could do my RNY. I do remember a month or so after I had awful gas pains. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

  5. I was told to walk 2 miles a day. I used a FitBit after for about 2 weeks after I started getting more energy. I averaged about 6 miles a day just at work so I stopped wearing the FitBit and never really did much after. My weight had been stable at between 140 and 145 for 2 years. About a month ago I started going to the gym with wife. In the classes they start you off by running a mile. I am usually not out of breath or even broken a sweat. But I always feel better after I go no matter how tired I may be of how sore I am. Until you see your surgeon again, try walking as much as you can. I remember they had me up within a few hours after I woke up to walk around the hospital wing. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. I'm a little over 3 years out and some tastes have changed. French fries I can rest a very few so I just don't eat them really. Pizza I don't like as much and had to be thin and crispy crust. I am so tired of pain water so I get those sugar free flavorings you dump into the water bottles. I used to love good coffee but now it kills my stomach so I drink it very rarely. Also some spicy foods make me salivate a lot and I feel sick and sometimes vomit. I guess as far as real changes in taste, I don't think anything for me changed. After a few years I think you'll maybe add some things back in moderation. Just make sure you don't slide back into bad habits and start gaining weight back.

    Dizziness

Yup, I still get that way and I'm pretty sure it's due to not getting enough water. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  8. I bruise easily and if I remember correctly, I looked like that too. I'd just mention it at your next appointment. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. Just keeping doing what you're supposed to and you'll be fine. They wanted me to walk about a mile a day after. I work at a large school system and the summer I returned to work we were opening 3 new schools. I walked over 6 miles a day so I didn't really did any exercising either. I am now though Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  10. I stopped about 1 year out and then gained about 10lbs and have held that for 2 years. Each person is different so don't get discouraged. You're doing well. Some people plateau and some don't. Just keep doing what you're supposed to. Are you exercising like you're supposed to? Have you gotten to the stage where you're getting a lot of energy? Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  11. Glad that's all it was. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  12. KKLive...did it get better? What was it? Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  13. I think it took me about 3-5 days for my first. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  14. I've only had one. I know I'll probably have another but I'm not looking forward to it. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  15. Probably not gallbladder. Gas maybe? Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  16. Where exactly is the pain? Might be gallbladder. I'd go see the Dr if it doesn't get better soon. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  17. Should feel it in your back, right below or at your lowest rib. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  18. Yeah. I had one about 3 years out. Never had them before. It started as a slight pain in my back on one side. Felt like a pulled something at first. Aftet about 3 days of that, I then had to pee about every 5 mins off and on for about 2 days. Then the pain started to increase and I ended up lying on the basement floor for about 30 mins in excruciating pain. I then realized what it was. The next 4 days my bladder hurt and it felt like I was peeing razor blades. I drank a lot of water during that time in hope to get it to pass. It did finally and everything cleared up about a week later. About an hour before I passed it I made an appointment with a urologist. When I met with him he said the nature of gastric bypass will limit the absorbtion of calcium. Calcium helps reduce kidney stones. When I go next month for my yearly gastric bypass visit I'm going to ask if I should increase my calcium intake. I hope you aren't getting a kidney stone. It was probably the worst pain I have ever felt. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  19. Being male, I may not have as many hormones but I did feel depressed and frustrated after surgery but I never once felt I made a mistake about the surgery. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  20. I think he depends on the medication. I take Zoloft and had about a year before my surgery. I asked my surgeon about it before my surgery and was told it should be fine after. I believe it's still working. I have noticed others like decongestants that are supposed to last 12 hours don't. They least maybe 6-8 hours. Maybe talk to your surgeon. I've noticed that a lot of other doctors don't completely understand weight loss surgery. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

    Smoking

You stopped to have gastric bypass to improve your life and health. Why in the Hell would you want to start smoking again? If you do, then question why you had the gastric bypass in the first place. Continue on a more healthy path; enjoy you new life and be thankful for the gift you were given.
