I had my gastric bypass wls on 10/17/14 and yesterday I found out I was pregnant, yay! Me and my husband are so happy. I'm just nervous about the weight gain, getting the proper nutrition and having a healthy baby. I'm curious... is there anything I should watch out for, health tips, pregnancy wls advice?? I'm new to this and would appreciate the input. Thanx!!

That's great congrats! I would love some advice because I too am pregnant. This would be my 3rd child. Both I had by way of cesarean. I'm nervous because those cesarean sand the gastric bypass were major surgeries I want to make sure my body is strong enough. Also what are some of the things you faced because of the surgery. Any advice and tips would be appreciated. Thank u!

So this is me day of surgery (before) and me this past Saturday (after). Starting weight 263lbs and current weight 212lbs. I had RNY 10-17-14... YAY US!!!

I looooooove buffalo wings, extra crispy with lots of blue cheese dressing!!! Or maybe a strawberry milk shake! Im 2wks post op and I even though I think about those foods I would love to just have a salad but im still on soups, ugh.

Hey everyone, I had surgery Oct.17th almost a week ago. Im unsure as to what I can have. I know a week after surgery its all clear liquids. Then its pureed foods? Im not able to see my nutritionist for at least 2 weeks but I want to make sure im staying on track. During the pureed food phase, how long is the phase, what do I stay away from and randomly can I have grits/oatmeal/mash potatoes?? Any advice would be great!!

Thanks everyone. My doctor has me seeing a nutritionist but she is over an hour away and I have to pay out of pocket just to hear whar I can and cannot have whivh sucks. I have been googling it but there are so many variations of what to do and not to do so I figured who better to ask than you guys.

Hey everyone, I must admit I ate today. Im on a 48hr clear liquid diet before surgery thats on this friday. I have been pretty good today with my liquids but tonight I cheated and ate. Im wondering what will happen now? Will they postpone the surgery, give me a higher dose of anesthesia??? My mom had the gastric bypass and told me she also cheated on the liquid diet and what happened to her was that she woke up during surgery because the dosage wasnt enough. Has anyone been through this??

Thanks for that! I needed the extra boost! Right now its sooo hard but I keep telling myself I want the surgery more than the food so I walk away. Tomorrow is the big day. Thanks for the advice!

So I got the call from my bariatric doctors office and they said UHC approved me annnnnnd the surgery is THIS FRIDAY!! Im soooo happy! Cant wait to start this new chapter of my life! Anyone else having surgery Friday? I have to start my liquid diet tomorrow. Losers bench here I come

Hey everyone! So I have finally submitted everything to my insurance (UH) and picked a surgery date of Oct.17. Does anyone else have surgery this date? It would be great to have some buddies to go through this with step by step. I am a little concerned though because my coordinator did not submit my weightloss monitoring documents. She told me that my insurance has not been requesting them so it was not a necessity however if they ask for them we will send them. I dont know how I should feel about that. Should I be happy that everything is sent or should I just go with the flow and see if they need them later on??... the good thing is that im almost there, on the loosing side!!

Has you insurance approved the surgery yet? Mine is taking forever, im still waiting.

Hey everyone, so my bariatric doctors office sent in the request for my surgery (UHC) Oct.17. I have been calling daily to see if it has been approved yet. My insurancr is saying they need my surgeons office to call them. They didnt request anymore information but they can only speak to them, etc. Has this happened to anyone? Do you know what could be holding up the process? To make matters worse ny coordinator is out the entire week. It seems like the closer I get the further I am.

Hi, im new to this and am so excited to begin this journey to a better me! My insurance wont be effective for a few more days but I wanted to know what is the process like going through UHC (United Health Care)? Do they require 6 months of monitor weightloss?? Im finally done with everything. I have to see my pulmonary doc wednesday to prescribe my cpap machine and to get the diagnosis for sleep apnea. Once I get that I will have everything I need to send to my coordinator to send to the insurance. The only thing im concerned about is the 6 month monitored weightloss. I dont have a doctor that monitored me but I was apart of a fitness program for 7 months and a gym membership. Im going to submit that. Prayerfully its not a problem! What did u guys submit for ur 6mnths weightloss monitoring? If u have had surgery yet how is everything going?
