  1. That's my main occupation too! How about May 12, 7:30pm at the JJ Bean at Main and 14th? My email is mskatewatson@gmail.com, might be easier than posting on the board?
  2. Sure! I'd like to meetup, I'm in North delta, but I work in Burnaby part time. Want to get a coffee one evening? Or after work on a Thursday? I can come downtown, or meet in east van?
  3. Hi nurse mom! My consult was Aug 20 and my surgery date was Sept 3, so not long at all. I have had two fills now (I got one at false creek just this morning!) and I'm loving my lap band! In August I started this journey at 272.2lbs and I'm now at 229lbs. It's still hard work losing the weight, but the band is the tool I need to keep me on track the days I can't do it through willpower . If you ever wanted to meet up and discuss, I'm around! I live in north delta
  4. I'm happy to meet in Langley! How about a Starbucks near the freeway? Maybe the one at 200th St & 86th Ave D/T-Langley? Evenings are better for me, I could be there any evening by about 7:30pm. Even if it's just 2 of us to start, I'm excited to meet someone else going through this

    Any troubles flying?

    Thanks everyone!
  6. I'm 2 weeks post op and might have to go away next week... Just wondering if anyone's had trouble flying with the band? My doctor said it may be uncomfortable with the pressure change? Has anyone flown so close to surgery? Just looking for your experiences . Thanks!!
  7. Hi! I'm in Delta, but I'd be totally happy to drive out your way. Did either of you guys find a group? If not, did you just want to meet the three of us for coffee or something? I'd love to chat to other people who have been through WLS... I got banded on Sept 3rd.
  8. Hi nire, how are you doing now? Are you feeling better now your a few days post? Were you able to get your post op supplies? I hope everything's going ok! I'm 5 days post op now and things are going pretty well

    Looking for a bander

I was banded on sept 3 too! I'm feeling much better today, I've been sleeping sitting up and a bit on the couch, I think moving throughout the night has helped relieve a lot of the gas pain, when I move from the couch to the bed and back again, each time more gas is dislodged . I'm also hungry, but pretty happy just to have soup after my 2 week veggie pre-op diet . Good luck everyone! We're through the worst now! (To me, the worst part was the operation... Now we'll start reaping the benefits!)0
  10. Hi! I was banded on Wed (3 days ago) and I can tell you I'm feeling so much better today, everyday is noticeably better. The first day I was surprised how much pain I had, and now today I havent even had any pain killers yet (I've been up two hours). I know the journey is different for everyone, but hopefully you feel better soon!
  11. Hi! I had my surgery yesterday and on the way into surgery, my doctor told me that I couldn't pick up my 18 month old son (25 lbs) for a month!! That's not really possible as I'm his primary care giver, and though I will try to get him to do his own walking/ climbing, I'm still gong to need to get him in/out of his crib/carseat/stroller etc... I'm just wondering if anyone else has little kids and how you've dealt with the post-op and healing while still being a good parent?

    Where's everyone from?

    Vancouver, Canada!
  13. I'm here! It's THE day! I'm in my hospital gown waiting for them to come and get me for my band!! Super excited .
  14. Good for you! You must be so excited. Is it actually working out going to the gym regularly? I should start something like that. I'm scheduled for Sept 3rd too - 10am I'm a bit hungry on the pre-op, and I find if I weigh myself everyday I seem to go up and down a lot... I should probably weigh in less frequently I get 3 Protein shakes/ day and veggies. It was hard at first, but I'm getting used to it. I'm very excited about getting the band in. The thing I guess I'm most worried about is keeping the weight off long term. My husband says, one step at a time though Which is very true...
