Hi. I'm having a really hard time. Now that I'm starting to heal I feel hungry... sometimes very hungry... and I'm really struggling with it. I'm on a full liquid for the first two weeks and really do want to follow the rules, but i feel like I'm gonna lose it!! I dont want to fall back to old habits, but when I get this hungry, old habits start to come into my head!! I haven't breaken the rules, had a cracker to have the sensation of chewing. Went down fine? I wish I could get a fill now and start feeling the restriction so I can't eat.... 5 long weeks to go before real food consumption. Has anyone had this type of experience? What did you Do? HELP!!!

Hi. I just got banded last Wednesday, 11/7. Came home from the hospital after a rough first night. The worst pain I feel is where the port is placed, is that normal? How long with that take to subside. My stomach is making some funky noises, and i'm tyring to stick to the post op diet they gave me. I dont have much of an appetite, but am drinking what they tell me to. Two weeks of full liquids and than on to mushies. I hear you get hungry once you heal and am not looking forward to that part. Anyway, figured I would say hi to all!!

Hi.. Thanks for all the support. I had a BMI of 40.5 with sleep apnea, border line blood sugar and high blood pressure. My liver is oversized and i have falbladder full of stones, so i got approved through my insurance (oxford - liberty) pretty easily. I went through all the tests and followed a strict liquid diet the week before. Haven't lost any weight yet, but am sure in time it will come. Good Luck

Getting banded in November, Reality Setting In!
jenn3802 replied to rumpid's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi All. This is my first post on here. I've been reading everyones entry's so I figured, with my operation scheduled for 2 weeks away, I would post a quick hello. I start the pre op liquid diet next Wednesday which I am very nervous about. I tend to get severe headaches when I drastically change my diet like I'm going to have to start next week. I'm an emotional basketcase lately and have my doubts every day if i'm making the right decision; even though deep down I know its the best thing for me and my family. I'm the most concerned that I made the right decision to go with the Band vs the Bypass. Is the success rate the same? What will I eat after the initial 6 weeks of healing and diet? I LOVE fast food and sugary drinks and dont have much time to cook with two active kids and a career. I'll stop babbling now.... Good luck to everyone!!!
