  1. I'm lucky that my pre op diet of liquids only is only for one day (my surgery will be on 07/29). However I was required to lose 10% of my weight during the six months of classes I had to take, which was 24 pounds. I went on to lose a bit more than that. It always amazes me how very different our pre and post op instructions are.

    Weird Body Dysmorphia

It will eventually catch up. It's not only your body that is undergoing a transformation, but your entire life. There's bound to be some chaos going on behind the scenes. Once things start to settle down though and you are more settled into a routine everything will sync back up. The little niggling doubts might creep back in here and there, as that kind of goes with being fat for a good deal of life. But you will be better able to nip it in the bud by then. Good luck!

End of the year Athem Approvals

Unfortunately that is a pretty common requirement for a lot of insurance companies. I had to do one with Kaiser too. I hope it works out for you!

I'm so happy for you and doubly proud that you never gave up! You've got this and are going to be spectacular! Heck, you already are!

    Surgery on Monday the 6th

Mine isn't until the 29th, but some of the things I have ready are broth, miralax and milk of magnesia, gas x strips, Chapstick, my Vitamins, Protein shakes, hydro flasks to keep my Water chilly and my broth hot (I love these), crystal light, unflavored protein, slippers and robe, neck pillow. There's more but I can't remember now. I'm big on preparation so I'm sure I'll end up with much more than I need. But better too much than too little. Good luck on your surgery and keep that calm frame of mind. You'll do great!
  13. Oh God I hope not! Mine stopped about a year ago. I would not like to have them back. I was very regular before I stopped though. If you were irregular before and depending on your age, you might be in for a revisit. I'll be praying for you! ????????

    Feeling Blessed!

Congrats! It's exciting to know your day will be coming soon! And it's wonderful weather here in Southern CA (which is pretty much the norm). You'll love it! Good luck!

    Mentally struggleing

You are not a failure! You just need to find alternate ways to deal with your emotional ups and downs by trying to soothe them with stuff like soda. I was a big soda drinker too (coke zero) but I had to give it up. It's like alcohol to an alcoholic. It's all or nothing. If I go back to it I know it's a just a slippery slope to weight gain. Good luck!

    Reactions to weight loss

Congrats on your major success! I think it's funny that whenever one person loses a lot of weight, all the people around them suddenly become super conscious of their own weight, be they fat or thin. It's just one of those unexplainable things.

    Pre op

Hang in there. I know it's really tough but everyone says its gets better day by day. I hope you feel better soon!

    Cheated already!

You had a misstep and learned from it. So just move on from here and let it go. Now if you're in any way thinking your journey is over, deeming the operation a dismal failure, because of this single incident, and you're going to continue to eat out of control from now on, because what's the point, then you'd be right to be concerned. But I'm sure you know that that's not the case. One day does not define you, nor does it discount all the compliant days you had before this one. Forgive yourself. ????

    Intubation and Drain Tubes

One of the contributing factors in my choosing the surgeon I will have was that he used drains. I'm not looking forward to them but in the long run, as another poster said, it's better it's draining outside of your body rather than inside.
