My story is new gossip:(
The Candidate replied to 50lbstogo's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You know I haven't experienced this sort of thing, luckily. But I'd be tempted to take out a piece of paper and appear to be checking it intently, then take a big sigh of relief and say: "Oh, thank God! Your opinion doesn't appear anywhere as a requirement in my approval approval process!" -
I need some pep talks!

I am so sorry for the loss of your mother and all the other stress factors you've been experiencing. I think your weight loss so far is tremendous! Just take a little time to focus entirely on yourself and your wants and needs and I'm sure you'll start feeling stronger soon! And I'd toss that scale away for awhile and concentrate more on how you feel instead of numbers. Good luck! -
I don't have Aetna but just wanted to say that those kind of fears are normal. Hope you get the approval you're hoping for. Good luck! ????
-
It is so absolutely normal to feel this way, so don't worry about that. You are not alone. As far as the risks involved, they are definitely a real possibility. I would advise you to research extensively and list the pros and cons of the procedures available, as well as what it would mean health wise to either stay where you are, or move forward. But when it comes time for those pros and cons to be tallied and a final decision made, that's something only you can do. You definitely don't want to move forward unless you are absolutely positive that it is the right thing for you to do. Good luck and welcome!

my Surgery date was moved
The Candidate replied to auntMish's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wasn't required to do an endoscopy, but did do the stool sample. If they give you a choice, I would do the latter as it's quicker and easier. My program required a 10% weight loss, which I not only had to lose, but maintain until surgery, which is next week. It's never easy but it will benefit you in the long run, which I know is hard to see now as you've been terribly disappointed by the postponement. I hope things work out for you! Good luck! -
How thin is TOO thin?
The Candidate replied to bellabloom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You look great! As far as losing more, I would base it on how you feel, and get your doctor's input as well. -
I ordered their sample packet from their web site. I think it included different flavors of chocolate, strawberry, vanilla, unflavored, and chicken soup, plus it came with a shaker bottle. It's a good place to start.

Waiting is no fun!
The Candidate replied to amyallthetime's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The wait varies drastically with different surgeon and insurance requirements. Mine took a year. -
Welcome! And congrats!

I find these type posts to be the most inspirational of all, especially as a pre op. Your outcome is exactly the sort we're all hoping to achieve, so thanks for sharing. I'm so happy for you and your healthy new life!
