What happens if you eat something before you're supposed to (clear liquid, puree, etc.)?

4 months post op, 72 lbs down, food/life adjustments
The Candidate replied to TrialAtty's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The fact that it is such a non deal is wonderful to hear. I've always wanted to be normal in relation to food portions and never ending hunger. Even at just two months out it's refreshing to finally be off that insatiable appetite merry-go-round. Everyday I feel more normal too and I love it! Thanks for your story! -
I've thought about it, and I certainly admire your strength to do so. But I decided early on to weigh everyday and chart my progress. That's how I can see that there is some pattern to it, and therefore I don't freak out every time it goes up a pound. It always compensates in a downward trend. Of course I'm only a little over two months out. As the year progresses it might start wearing on my nerves and I may well need to chuck it. ???? Thanks for sharing!

It's tough to have time added to your waiting period. It took me a year to get through all of my requirements. It felt endless. But I can promise you that once you're there, it seems like it was nothing at all. I even sort of laugh at myself looking back now at how obsessive and stressed I was about it. Your waiting will be over before you know it! Good luck!

The First Steps are the Hardest

Your topic title said it all. So true. Sounds like you are progressing well, and each day will get better. Congrats on surgery and best of luck! -
20 pounds in a month is indeed very good. Just keep on course as you've been doing, and you will get there in the time frame that is best for your particular body.

Congrats on your surgery tomorrow! Best of luck!

SHARING MY SUCCESS!????????????????????
The Candidate replied to MzStockton's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congrats on your weight loss! -
So sorry to hear you had this reaction, Kate! Hope you feel better soon. After surgery I couldn't stomach the taste of Bariatric Advantage. I mean it was really off putting. Had to switch to Celebrate.

Letter of Referral/Recommendation from Primary Doctor
The Candidate replied to RNYDawn's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Do you have any print outs from those urgent care trips that show your weight? If so, it might help with the documentation. Good luck! -
For me, especially in the first few weeks, nothing tasted good. Nothing felt satisfying. But because I required so little food, it was a workable trade off. I thoroughly enjoyed, and still do, that food is no longer a mitigating factor in my life. I'm eating normal portions, and I'm not starving. Each day the head hunger diminishes in intensity as well. It's great!

That is indeed awesome! Congrats!

Waiting for approval
The Candidate replied to MrsYoungblood's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Every insurance company is different but I waited a little over a week for approval. Another two weeks to schedule surgery. And then a month after that for my actual surgery. In all, with satisfying my requirements, it took me a year from start to finish. But many people have a much shorter time frame. It's all relative to your particular insurance. Good luck! -
