    My wedding rings during surgery

That very rude comment towards @@proudgrammy was totally uncalled for and the very height of disrespect. There isn't a more supportive person on this forum than she.

    Denied.

Hang onto that hope. I've seen a lot of denials here that eventually turned into approvals. Best of luck!

    Pre op classes

My required six months of classes was actually the only part of the approval process that went by quickly for me.

    Worried about hunger/fullness

You just have to give yourself and your tummy time to adjust and compensate for what it's been through. You might not feel much restriction now, but it'll happen. I know in the beginning I felt like a new fangled gadget that didn't come with an instruction book. All the research I've done and I was still taken off guard. I never had to sip Water, and still don't. Initially I was concerned when any expectation didn't meet reality, just like you. One day soon you'll just feel like something clicked and things will start falling into place. Listen to your body and it will guide you. You'll eventually learn your definition of full based on your particular body. For me, I feel it more in my chest. I know now when to put the fork down. The same will be true of you, I'm sure. As for the head hunger, it can be tough. But everyday I'm out from surgery it becomes a little less insistent voice in my head. Not to say I don't have my bad days, but I've yet to fall off the wagon. I've not had soda, bread, fast food, candy, or anything else that I'm not supposed to, and it's my bypass that makes it all possible. With dieting, before surgery, I was the unfortunate one who brought a knife to a gun fight. Now finally, it's a fair battle all around, and this time I'm going to win! You will too! Best of luck to you!

    Walking Post Op

Yes, that exhaustion will put you through the wringer for the first month or so. My bypass was on 07/29/15 and I don't think I felt any real energy until around 6 weeks out. But rest assured that the tiredness is completely normal, and it'll eventually pass. Be sure to stay hydrated and get as much Protein in as you can. It will get better, I promise! Good luck!

    Confused!

I couldn't tolerate the powder Protein shakes for some reason. I finally settled on the Premier Protein ready made variety. As for helpful purchases I bought a set of small plastic plates that I use religiously, to remind me how little my portions should be. And I love my Hydroflask. I fill it with Water and ice and that ice doesn't melt for about 24 hours. Love it!

    Psych

Mine was easy peasy. Only took about 20 minutes and she spoke in welcoming conversational tones. All in all it covered my knowledge of the procedure, how my life would change, support system, expectations, family and diet history, etc. There were no written tests as I know some have had. Best of luck!
  21. You not only identified a potential problem early on, but you've also spelled out how you're going to readjust your behavior to solve it. Sounds like you've got this well in hand. Kudos too for increasing the accountability by going public. Best wishes!
