Weight Gain 1 month post op
The Candidate replied to Power Surge's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As long as you are adhering to your guidelines it's okay. Your body will adjust and the downward trend will kick back in. Don't let the scale be your guiding light. -
What About The Good (Amazing) Stories?
The Candidate replied to creativediff's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery and recovery were complication free. I'm about three and a half months out. Down 79 pounds overall and 47 since surgery. Life is good and it's getting better everyday! Best decision ever! -
I've never heard of taking gasX as being harmful. I took it when I was still in the hospital, and I still take it occasionally now.

My Pitty Party
The Candidate replied to jhclikesshopping@gmail.com's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It's okay to have a bad day, week, or even a month. Just don't punish your body and your wls success for being human. I try and always remember how hard I had to work and fight to get to surgery. Nothing is so bad that it's worth sabotaging my future by going back now. Thanks for the quote. It's a good way of keeping us grounded. -
Woo Hoo! That's worth a resounding congrats!

Sloow weightloss!
The Candidate replied to svasquez's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think you're doing great. Keep up the great work. Results can't be measured side by side, person to person. The rate of weight loss is unique to the individual. I would consider ditching the scale for awhile if it's causing you major concern. Hang in there! -

Bypass and sugar addiction
The Candidate replied to WannabeH's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
That's part of the reason I chose bypass as well. I'm about 15 weeks out and the "fear" of dumping is keeping me well in line. And the further out I get, the easier the cravings become. I use sugar free Popsicles and pudding, and the occasional Protein bar to satisfy my sweet tooth. It's working well! -
The only real craving I'm having is for Coke Zero. I'm abstaining, hopefully for life, because I know if I cave there will be no going back. I've wanted to break that habit for years anyway, and I'm going to stay strong. The same is true for sweets. I chose the bypass in part to break that addiction as well. The "fear" of dumping (I haven't yet), is keeping me true. Sadly, I think I'm one of those people where it does have to be all or nothing. I'm choosing nothing. And with wls surgery, for the first time in my life - I can live with that. What I get in return is so much better!

No restriction
The Candidate replied to ladypoet1985's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with @@Dub give it some time. You should notice the difference once you're back to regular food. I'm close to three and a half months and sometimes I'm still taken aback by how little I can eat. But drinking, I've never had an issue with that. I can gulp water easily. Congrats on your surgery and hang in there! -
Questions - just starting process
The Candidate replied to healthier&happier4life's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
For question one: That's the point of wanting to see your past diet history - wanting to see that you've at least tried dieting before electing for surgery. So in essence, in this case anyway, failure is what counts toward approval. For question two: I filled out my food logs showing the changes I made in eating habits. I was expected to lose 10% before surgery. And the changes I wrote down were backed up as I lost the pre op weight. The more weight you lose as a pre op, and the sooner you begin implementing lifestyle changes, the easier your life as a post op will be. They're looking for commitment here. -
3-days Post-Op (Liquid)
The Candidate replied to Namaste6's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I alternated between the savory of broth and the sweetness of the sugar free Popsicles. That seemed to help me. Remember that in the beginning it's more important to concentrate on keeping hydrated than getting all your Protein in. Severe dehydration can land you in the hospital. It will get better day by day. Best of luck! -
Did anybody get surgery only letting minimal people know?
The Candidate replied to lovelylala's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I only told my immediate family, and a couple of close friends. I made the decision upfront and it had nothing to do with embarrassment. I'm a private person and my business is my business. That was the only criteria I based it upon. I'm now 15 weeks post op and I have no regrets. There is no right or wrong in relation to whether you tell or not tell. It should be tailored solely to fit your personal comfort zone. Best of luck! -
I had to start wearing men's shoes because of my wide feet, so I'm hoping for some weight loss there as well!
