First Name Kesha - Last Name Nervous
The Candidate replied to TheNiceVoice's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Well let's just hyphenate that last name with a positive spin. Last name: Nervous-Not ???? It's perfectly normal to have jitters. We all do. But you're doing this for a very good reason. A healthy long life. Focus on your end goal. You'll do great! Congrats! -
Stay positive. Believe in your surgeon and yourself. Focusing on the possible negatives isn't going to make this any easier. Go back and reread all the success stories on this site. You'll do fine. Congrats!

Richmond California Kaiser? anyone
The Candidate replied to BairwithMe's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I went through Kaiser So CA San Diego, so it might be different there. But we didn't have to provide actual proof. They just wanted us to write it out with approx dates and weight lost. No receipts or other type of official documentation was required. Good luck! -
Hooray for you! What a wonderful accomplishment! Congrats!

What were (or are) some of the barriers holding you back from getting wls?
The Candidate replied to miamomma's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The only thing that held me back was insurance. Without that obstacle I would have done this years before. -

From the Peak of Despair to Tiny Underwear
The Candidate replied to chasingpolaris321's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I really connected with your comments about weight loss not bringing you the euphoria you expected, but instead allowed you to feel normal and at peace in situations where before you would have stood out as obese. It's not about instant happiness. It's about finally being comfortable with your own body image, which in turn gives you the courage to reach for goals you wouldn't have tried before. You are living life out loud and are certainly an inspiration. Thanks for sharing your story.
